I can see Floyd struggling in that first defense straight off bat . True , it's not peak Schmeling but a very good version, with that deadly right . Would be a dangerous first fight as champ . Then Conn , another toughie , Good Chin and fast . Primo , I've got Floyd stopping in 10 round or so . Maybe Sharkey could pull off the win ? With his head in the right place he could give Patterson problems . If he's still the champ ,Max B could prove his downfall ,a dangerous hitter and the Schmeling ft version s pretty vicious !
Schmeling would probably take him, even at this stage. Patterson would have the right tools to beat Conn. Carnera is probably just too big. Sharkey is a 50/50 type fight, with the edge perhaps going to the more consistent Patterson. Baer would eat his cornflakes out of Patterson's skull!
Schmeling vs Patterson Good fight, one I've never thought about. I like Floyd to win rounds and get a KD but his aggression would lead to his downfall, for a man of his size Schmeling could punch. Probably harder than Ingo and he was a much better fighter, I'd take him to KO Patterson whilst being down on points. Schmeling KO10 Conn vs Patterson, good fight with two speedsters, I like Floyd here tho and relatively easily. It's like him vs Byrd, Floyd's aggression and speed with virtually no threat of being KOed wins it for me. And by KO Patterson KO5 Carnera vs Patterson, another fight I haven't considered but I think this seriously represents a second Dempsey Willard. Patterson would eat up and spit out Carnera imo. Louis beat Carnera, but Louis is a very smart fighter who didn't go out and rush aggressively like Floyd. I think Carnera is far too slow for this and gets brutally KOed after being dropped loads. Sharkey vs Patterson, Sharkey was a good contender and has a very live chance, but I think Floyd is too slick and fast for him, not to mention he could bang Baer vs Patterson, I fully expect a Baer beatdown, lots of KDs, a brutal KO, Baer was a monster when he was focused
Schmeling is pretty similar to ingo, might beat Patterson but I really dont rate schmeling as highly as most of yall. Patterson by knock out late rounds. Billy conn would be a interesting fight, very competitive at first, but I see Conn ending up getting overpowered and knocked out eventually. Carnera would be a even more interesting fight, carnera was a fairly decent boxer but Floyd had that explosive power and would knock carnera down until carnera couldnt get up anymore. I think carnera style would really compliment Patterson's. Jack sharkey gets ****ed up early to mid rounds. Max baer would be Floyd's hardest fight here, that would be the only one I wouldnt favor Patterson in. Unless floyd can time when baer pulls up his shorts.
Schmeling could very well win, but so could Patterson. Tough to call Conn gives him trouble but gets clipped Carnera actually has a decent puncher's chance Sharkey gets ko'd Baer absolutely destroys Patterson in a few rounds
