No argument here about his tub of lard. He a fat guy no doubt but he has incredible hand speed for a man that size. Modern NFL lineman are tubby as well but that doesn't make them any less athletic. With that said, Patterson is a far more skillful fighter than Ruiz but that size is a massive difference maker.

What makes you think Floyd was only 5 feet 9?

Absurd that Patterson is winning this and I like Floyd. Joshua is a 250 pound 6ft 6 modern day super heavyweight with power in both hands, you’re telling me a light heavyweight from the 50s gets to him before Joshua gets to Patterson?it wasn’t like Patterson was a sick mover who couldn’t be hit, he’d have to go right at Joshua and he’d be torn to shreds in doing so, Look at the right hand Wlad landed on Joshua, if that landed on Patterson he’d have took about a week to get up, Joshua wipes him out in 3 rounds and anything else is pure bias and nostalgia.

I'm not going to make a pick, but IMO if Floyd can keep from getting nailed for 5 or 6 rounds, he can win this. I'm not going to say he will win it, I'm going to say he can win it. Not a great matchup for him.

Maybe but opinion on who would win is essentially split.

This is like Joshua vs Dmitri Bivol, with Bivol not bothering to bulk up.

Floyd was often listed at 6'0", but he was several inches shorter. The same goes for Frazier, Tyson, Marciano, etc....

I never had the pleasure of meeting Patterson myself, but my trainer and plenty of other people I know, who did mentioned how short Patterson was.

Here are few pictures of Patterson next to other fighters.

Here is Patterson with Liston, who is noticeably taller and Liston was slightly under 6'1".

Here is Patterson with Roy Harris and Joe Louis.

Here is Patterson and Liston in a tale of the tape, which has Patterson listed at 5'11", which is still too high

Here is Patterson with Johansson, who like Liston was slightly under 6'1".

Here are some measurements of both Patterson and Johansson, which list Patterson at 5'11"

Patterson with Joe Frazier, who was also 5'9". Both are basically the same height
