Patterson would have to fight a near perfect fight to win a decision, any mistakes and he's on the canvas, and it would still be very close..

Either Floyd outboxes him to win a very close decision, or Tua catches him late for the KO..

I'll say scenario number 1, but ill probably be in the minority..:huh

Sooner or later Tua would find home with that jackhammer of a left and it would be all she wrote for Patterson.

Patterson beat Chuvalo and Bonavena, he could outpoint Tua.

The right hand was Patterson weakness, Tua isn't in Listons and Ingos class in that regard.

Patterson got hit in all of his fights, and Tua, for all his faults, can bang. Patterson isn't consistently elusive enough to make it to the final bell.

Tua was tough, mean, and could bang i get it but he was out boxed , by guy's that were better than him..

Byrd who was Floyd's size out boxed him, made him look silly, so did Lewis, Tua was never an elite fighter, Floyd was..

    Patterson was just better period..

Tua could be out boxed, Oquendo made him look like his feet were in cement but Floyd wasn't a runner. He would have to be 100% focused here, I think I'll have to go with Tua catching up with him late to prompt a referee's intervention.

Tua would ice him fast .. Floyd was tiny with a short reah and was not a boxer .. He did not have a mammoth Jab and reach nor was he physically strong to hold and tie Tua up .. this would be another Liston fight .. horrible match up for Floyd, ideal for Tua.

Neither Chuvalo or Bonavena could hit like Tua nor were they in his size range.Quarry knocked Floyd down with both a left and a right.

Floyd was faster than everyone including Ali, Liston ,Quarry ,Johannson, and Ellis, all of whom beat him.
Floyd did not have Byrd's defensive capabilities nor his jab ,he was an inch and a half shorter, with a 3 inches shorter reach and typically 25lbs lighter.
Floyd would be conceding nearly 50lbs to Tua, it's possible he could but the odds are against it ,imo.

I'd take Tua over Frazier too, and I have a ton of respect for Frazier. Tua can really only do one thing well, and that's dent whoever stands in front of him.

Oh yes, how could we not see this! :patsch
    1) Floyd was not left hook prone.
    2) And again (geez do I have to mention this ad nauseum?) ERAS!!!
A sixties Tua would have either been less big or a less chiseled 'porker'.
A 2000 Floyd would have been 200+ with the same tools.
100 years from now Patterson will still be considered an ATG legend and Tua will be a 'blip' on the radar screen....

And you'll still be saying," if he were around today he would be a chiselled 220lbs and 3 inches taller," ad nauseum.
It's matching them as they were.:patsch

What part of that don't you get?:huh

But if you actually dig a bit deeper i to Tuas win column. The only durable guy he koed was Ruiz.

Moorer had a dodgy chin and had been destroyed by a non puncher in Holyfield years prior to the Tua fight.

The closest thing Tua fought stylewise to Frazier was Ibeabuchi who took it and dished it right back and was nowhere near to being stopped.

Tua is a dangerous puncher, mainly against C level opponents.
