Floyd Patterson vs Doug Jones, both prime. When Muhammad Ali signed for a rematch against Sonny Liston in 1964, Jones was rated no.1 contender, a match against Patterson was being offered. But then Jones lost a split decision to Billy Daniels on Aug 14 1964. Who wins and why?

Doug is more like a crafty type of swarmer. Good footwork, good mixing the punches, clean and accurate...but not the biggest power puncher at all. I assume Floyd can overcome the early rounds and once he get into the fight it goes way downhill for Doug. He will figure out Dougs weaknesses and just equalizes almost everything due to his insane speed. Patterson KO 7-9.

Patterson gets this. Interesting style match up. Doug maybe not letting Floyd really settle and making him miss. But Patterson does figure him out, starts having success then takes him out with a beautiful hook, around 9.
