I think Evander , Pattersons hands were really fast , but his defense was poor , and he would not be able to hurt Holyfield , even with those 100 punch combos that he threw! Holyfield's jab would work well , and the fight would probably become a war at some point. At cruiserweight Holyfield was fast on his feet , but Patterson was faster with his hands. I dont think it would be that long and Holyfield would stop him at some point
Good points all Teeto.I can see Floyd being knocked down but not out.I can also see Evander being knocked down as well,Floyd could Punch after all.Hmmm, over 15 I think I'd go with Floyd,I don't think Evander could keep up over 15rds.Patterson SD over 15rds.
If these men met at a 175 or 180 lbs, Holyfield would have been very inexperienced at that point. Patterson's best performances were at this weight. It would be a tough match, but I'm leaning towards Floyd in this one. If these guys met when Holy was about 200 however, then I'd go with Evander. He was way too strong by that point in his career.
At 190 its Patterson all the way. Fighting a plus 200 lbs. Evander would be a bigger chore for Floyd but I guarantee that Patterson could hurt either version of Holyfield with the left hook. I don't see Patterson getting knocked out in any scenerio... My $0.02
What a terrific match-up. As an under 200 lb fight it would be high octane entertainment all the way!
I think Patterson would win while Evander has the power to drop him I don't feel he has the punch to finsh him. I feel Patterson would be beating him to the punch and land often also Holyfield didn't have much experience at cruiserweight which would be to his disadvantage. Patterson UD 15.
At first glance, I was thinking of heavyweight Evenader vs. heavyweight Patterson. I would have to say Evander without thinking too much about that match-up. Sub 200, I have to agree with most everyone else so far. Patterson's hands were too fast, and his punches would have carried too much impact for Evander to win rounds. Patterson by decision.
