Hopkins is an inch taller and has a 3 inch reach on Floyd and walks around at like 185 in shape, Floyd maybe was a little more stout than Hopkins but he is still way too small to fight someone like Rahman. He would get annihilated with the quickness.

being taller and having a longer reach means an absolute ****... thomas hearns was longer and taller than tyson, frazier and tua.. but WAS HE BIGGER? NO!! it has nothing to do with who would win between patterson and rahman, i did answer your absurd comment, and hopkins is not a 185 pounder in the ring in shape, he was a 170 pounder in the ring, probably patterson in a normal day weighed 200 pounds easily, but for the fight he weighed 188 pounds in perfect shape

Tough fight to call. Rahman's size, strength and style could be a big problem for Patterson. Rahman had a very good jab and often won his fights by over powering opponents, Patterson would have to move and box the whole fight and I'm not sure if he'd be able to do this effectively against the much bigger Rahman. It's still close in my mind because Patterson had more skills but if I had to put money on it I'd go with Rahman in this match up.

Patterson was a swarmer. He'd be right in Rahman's wheelhouse and we know the quality of Patterson's chin. I see an early brutal knockout for Rahman.

Providing Floyd can ride and evade most of Rahman's heavy shots,he takes a decision. Patterson was a better all round fighter. A big IF,though.

Floyd Patterson too fast & too skillful for the limited Rahman.

    I'd say Floyd wins 8 outta 10

Rahman KO1, mismatch... Would they even sanction such a "fight"?

Rahman certainly "could" win based on his size. But, Patterson is light years better in skill, and should win a decision. I believe Floyd also hits harder than Oleg Maskaev, and therefore it is not out of the realm of possibility that he could stop Rahman. But, a decision win for Patterson is most likely as long as Floyd fights carefully. Rahman has nowhere near the skill of Liston. And, Floyd went the distance with several fighters better than Rahman. If it goes to the cards, Patterson will win.

I love Floyd, he's clearly the superior fighter, and although Rahman is no Liston you'd have to take him here.
Too big and powerful for Floyd.

Rahman couldn't stop 42 y.o. fat Trevor Berbick in 10 rounds, 41 y.o. Ferguson in 12 rounds and Oleg Maskaev (who was KO'd cold 7 times) in 20 total rounds.

What does make you think he KO's Patterson in 1?

Patterson stays smart for a points win. don't undervalue him just cos as a kid he lost won the title and lost it fast, just as all the legends came along.
