The Rademacher thread brought up some conversation as to whether peak Floyd Patterson could beat an amateur such as (nominated) Joe Joyce in his first pro outing.

Joyce defeated Hrgovic a 6'7 unorthodox national champion in the Ams.

Patterson has no answer for the 6'6 power house...easy fight

Glass chin meets bulldozer and soon ..probably round 1 as Joyce had quality experience going into his debut and would have had a 70 pound advantage.

lets also pretend Joyce wasn't robbed of gold medal..hes a OLYMPIC champ himself.

Cus Damato kept Patterson away from liston as long as he could just bc of listons size...imagine what a 6'6 guy at 260 would have done to Cus mind frame? ...he would have told Patterson to retire. lol

joyce first off wouldnt really be Fighting in his first pro bout. he fought in the professional Amateur league…..so he´d be more Ready.
the heart wants to say Patterson...….but i just cant go against logic. Patterson at his best was 6´0 185. mr. joyce is 6´6 265 and can fight. i´m a fighter myself and i can tell you how much difference size makes. you just cant get around that.
joyce would probably maul Patterson, drop him a few times and stop him in 3.

Good replies, apparently if some of the people who post here have read a story in a book or magazine about a boxer, it elevates that boxer in their mind over any current fighter? Patterson had nothing to keep Joyce off of him, he was too small and weak to tie him up, and Joyce's punches and aggression would wreck him. Total mismatch.

Would you make the same prediction for amateur Joyce against the current lightheavyweight beltholders? Patterson was about the same weight as those guys, hydrated.

Floyd beats Joyce if it’s the Joyce of his first WSB bout!

I think that Floyd Patterson is going to be a bit of an ask for any debuting fighter.

I think Joyce looks absolutely horrendous stylistically, while Patterson is smooth as silk. But logic dictates that a huge 265lb man who throws punches non-stop and looks to have a solid chin is going to be a pretty big task for a 185lb one who has issues with punch resistance. I think Joyce likely swarms all over him and TKOs him in under five unless Patterson finds some way to hurt him.

Bit of basic comprehension difficulty? I created the thread - where do you see me crying about the posts?

What I should do is post EVERY time you posted something on fantasy matches .. but its a waste of my time. Not that I specifically called you out or I would have .

See you didn't think this would actually be a good convo but now that youve got actual responses that you have no answer for you now want to make it like you really made a legit thread? lol ....one you don't actually beleive bc we know your posting style. that's why you created it to be funny....lol

    Definitely confirms the comprehension difficulties.

As for answering the responses i don't care one way or another. I'm genuinely interested in how many of the fine Classic posters (not talking yourself of course) see such a match. I'm quite dubious a debutant could pull it off even against a smaller lineal champ but will digest comments and votes from various certain posters (again, not yourself) before i get overly cemented.
