Floyd Patterson vs Jumbo Cummings

I really don't imagine Patterson being able to take Cummings' punch nor his strength.

 

He was 6'2 and insanely muscular. Pushed the strong chinned Snipes to the ropes many times over during the span of their competitive fight.

 

If only skill alone made the difference here.

 

I think Jumbo's biggest problem is that he never knew whether he was cummings or going.

This seems like low hanging fruit, Bolo. Much like Cumming's own.

 

I'll take the heavyweight champion who was in the top ten for more years than anyone else in history than the guy who never once made the top ten.

 

Was about to head to sleep and I changed my mind, the later version of Patterson would definitely beat Cummings. He'd probably get floored early and outbox him to a decision past that point. I was thinking about the match and I was like, "Wait, didn't he beat Bonavena during the 70s?" That older version of Floyd really learned how to fight heavy hitters.
Champion reign Patterson probably gets knocked out against any inspired version of Cummings, but likely beats him otherwise ahead of a couple scares.

 

I was at the Bruno fight,if Cummings had landed that shot earlier Frank would have been gone.

 

That must have been an awfully difficult choice.
