Floyd Patterson vs Muhammad Ali Prime for Prime

Sounds pretty accurate. Even without his back going,Floyd loses quite heavily to Muhammad.

 

Peak Floyd was great (and again is very underrated here, and I understand and respect a lot of the reasons why that have been expressed), peak Ali was greater. That's the bottom line. I think the best an imaginary absolute peak matchup between Floyd and Ali could get for Floyd is going the distance and not being totally humiliated. I see no possible scenario, real or imaginary, where Floyd beats Ali. And I say that being on record that Floyd is one of my favorite fighters ever. All things being even, the greater fighter is going to win and Ali was the greater fighter.
