Floyd stops him ,I think,Carnera didnt have the power to stop Floyd ,and Patterson's fast hands would play a rumba on the big guys midsection ,softening him up for a late stoppage, around the 10th.
Hmmmmmmmmm Carnera for his limitations was consistent and delivered whenever he was up against sombody not quite among the elite of the curent crop. He could also be smart and knew how to give smaller guys problems (see Sharkey) I would lean towards Patterson to use his speed and ring smarts (asuming he brings them today) to take a decision. Too much is somtimes made of Pattersons chin in my humble opinion. If he walks onto that uppercut that seperated Sharkey from his senses he is in trouble.
Me too. Carnera was quite skilled and there is a big size difference. I too would pick Patterson but Carnera would give him a good fight. Both are very underated on here imo.
Well he beat Carnera without too much trouble ,but he was a couple of levels below Louis and Ali,AND A LEVEL BELOW PATTERSON ,imo.
Larry Gains beat a green Carnera who had not yet rounded off his style. Carnera got a lot better after that fight.
I'd go with Carnera. Patterson's a bit greater, but at the same time, he hardly ever beat a decent fighter that was over 210lbs, let alone 260lbs.
Carneras defense was heavily flawed, it was non-existing actually.. Floyd Patterson would land that left hook at will, it would be over before round 4.
