I would pick Floyd to win each and every fight but Walcott or Charles might get him first time around.

I can't see that version of Louis outboxing Patterson, and his power was a thing of the past.

He`d certainly beat Moore again far more convincingly than Marciano did.

In one off fights, I'd pick him to beat each of them.

In a career, I wouldn't pick him to beat all of them.

I do not see any of Rocky's opponents having an edge against (prime) Patterson. Given that Rocky's career was less than 10 years, Patterson could end the same run as Rocky had before turning 30, which mean he does not have to fight post his prime.
Patterson would likely be 49-0 aswell.

I think it very unlikely that he beats all of them, because he was just easier to beat than Marciano.

He was perhaps just as consistent, and was beating elite fighters over a much longer period.

If he fought the same renditions of those fighters then he probably wins. But a younger Ezzard Charles ( not the one Rocky fought ) would have my vote to beat Patterson

I don't think he could beat ezzard charles quite honestly, not even the one who nearly beat Rocky twice.

He completely out-classed Moore, far better fighter.

Having watched Louis in that fight against Marciano, and having seen Floyd at the general time he would have been in there with Joe, I'd agree with you that Patterson had the better tools at that point in Joe's career, and certainly much better speed. Floyd could have won that fight. assuming that Patterson fights his smartest and best fight against Joe.

Joe's speed was diminished, as well as his ability to deliver what power he had left. And, IMHO, Joe still had quite a bit left in the power department, just normally not able to deliver it effectively at that point in his career. My problem with Floyd in this is can he bring his A game into the ring against Joe Louis, even THIS version of Joe Louis? Louis would have been favored by most, in this fight, as he was against Marciano. Joe was a legend. And Louis would have been about 30 pounds heavier than Patterson. Also, even in the Marciano fight, Joe didn't look that bad in the early rounds. Those rounds looked pretty competitive to me.

Everything considered, yes, I think Joe had a very good chance of winning that fight against Floyd.

Rocky Marciano vs. Joe Louis: My Grandfather was AT THAT FIGHT. He SAW IT LIVE! I know I would have never argued with him about it. If he thought Louis had a good chance to beat Patterson, if Floyd, at Marciano's age, replaces Rocky there, I would tend to agree with him, since he saw all three fighters fight in person.

However, I did not agree with him about Joe Louis vs. Muhammad Ali. He ranked Muhammad #1 all-time. I ranked Joe in that spot. We both did agree it was a very close call.
