Ruiz wasn't that great, but a solid, credible guy who was beatable, which was indeed why he was selected. Don't overlook that he knocked Holyfield down whos known for having a great chin... Roy wouldn't agree to fight overweight waaaay past it Buster Douglas, and he sure wasn't gonna fight Holyfield or for the love of god, Lewis...

We're playing speculation, so if he could have knocked Floyd down which you admit, it isnt a "big whoop"- its a matter of admitting that if Ingo can keep putting him down, why not Roy?

Of course Roy is gonna be cautious here and I stated that. I'd say Jones is faster than Ellis and Machen... You talk about them being full sized HW, but they're all 185-200lbs... Not true HW's, and its obvious when you see their results against full sized heavies.
Yes, Patterson belongs toward the top of the small HW's of the era and couldn't turn the trick against the good big guys (and some same-sized guys), but the Ellis fight was competitive and Ellis officially won, so I don't get your point.

Roy, Floyd, Ellis, Machen, Ingo- all are the same size... Its not like Patterson is naturally bigger than Roy. Same size.
