Patterson was heavier, but not rangier or taller. Kovalev is a 21st century athlete who probably has the advantage of "vitamin S." who wins?
Hard to say. Kovalev hits like a truck but he's no Liston, and his chin seems crackable. I think Floyd pulls it off with his speed and power.
not seen kovalev pushed yet, or fight anyone remotely similar to patterson. my semi informed guess is that patterson stops him, but the reverse is clearly possible.
Kovalev is a genuine heavy hitter and probably has underrated skills, but I don't see what he brings that Floyd hasn't seen before. On the other hand Kovalev would have to deal with Floyds combination of speed and power the likes of which he'd certainly never encountered. It's Patterson for me on points or possibly a late stoppage.
Patterson ( 180-195 Ibs ) was fastest Boxer of all time in his Weight class , even faster than hw Roy Jones and he can also punch
You do not want to be the smaller man against Patterson. He will outclass you in everything that you need to be better at, as the smaller man in the fight.
That sounds about right but I've barely seen Kovalev. And as it is complimenting Floyd, I'll go with it on blind faith alone.
I could see kovalev doing ok for a few rnds being aggressive then bang Floyd chins him with a hard shot a bit like the Cooper fight all over in about 4.
