Could Patterson outbox Briggs like he did Chuvalo? On the other hands, Briggs was bigger and had enough punching power to crack Patterson's jaw. Could Patterson's speed and skill help him overcome?

Patterson knocks him out. Briggs wasn't the sturdiest guy himself.

He did take flush shots from Vitali for the distance and then kept getting up from Lewis best punches. I think he could take punches from Patterson. I mean, Pattersons lightining fast hands could send in punches that Briggs can't see and thus can't brace himself for, but thats the only way I see Briggs being KO'd.

If money was going down, I would pick Patterson to box clever, and outpoint Briggs.

Of course Briggs could land the bomb at any moment!

Briggs hit hard but that power went to his head and he devolved to an oaf. I would put my money on the speed and skill of Patterson.

Patterson outboxed other tough characters with good power like Bonavena and Chuvalo. I think he'd outbox Briggs similarly.

Patterson uses him for target practice. Briggs in his prime was moderately quick for maybe two rounds but after that was slower than old Foreman, and pretty incomponent.

Patterson could probably stop him if he forced the issue, Briggs got floored alot, but was only stopped a couple of times.

All that alleged power and Briggs only big KO was against Segrei who looked so awful, I buy the injured back excuse.
