How would Patterson do against a modern, physically strong heavyweight contender who was durable?

Patterson by decision. Patterson would box as necessary to win...plus
    stays out of danger.

Mike Tyson said berbick was even stronger than he looked, I think floyd still has a good chance in this though because he's undoubtedly going to be the faster better moving and far better skilled fighter. I think floyd boxes like he should, chooses not to engage in a pure slugging match and wins a u.d. berbick was durable and probably won' hit the canvas but it would be clear that he was beaten. Movement and good counters would be how Patterson wins

Berbick was a strong man, good chin. Patterson would have his hands full

Yeah but I think Patterson should be favored to walk away with a UD win. Berbick, to me, was a slightly bigger, but lesser technically skilled version of Oscar Bonavena. As I recall he did stagger and have Bonavena wobbled, which I wouldn't put past him doing to Berbick. I don't think he drops Berbick or certainly won't stop him, but he did have enough power behind his punches to keep Berbick honest.

Take every aspect of both of them, both the good and the bad, throw your analysis in a blender, set to puree, then pour it out and drink it. It will simply taste like a Patterson UD! Next!!!

If Bonavena couldn't get it down against an old Patterson, how is an equally dangerous guy like Berbick going to manage the trick against a prime Patterson?

Floyd wins this imo, Berbick was strong and durable, but not a big puncher and he couldn't box with Floyd.

Berbick was a big strong bloke who was a nutter tough but limited.Floyd was smaller but much faster and could hit hard .I think he catches Trev and drops him as he lumbers forward may even stop him .

I am far more dark side than you think. The problem here is that you folks only talk about heavies.
