#1 Ingo had a bomb of a right hand and he landed it. I agree he rates as one of the weakest HW champs but he had an ATG right hand!
#2 As to your Pete R. reference, things were different in those days (which makes it hard to compare different eras) Radamacher was 30 lbs. heavier, 7 years older, and had been boxing longer than Floyd. When Patterson went down, he had a bemused, embarrassed look on his face (read: flash knockdown)
Outside of Ingo's bingo, and the Sonny fights, no one put him out (and he wasn't ''out'' against them!
Spinks? RJJ? Ezz? Jersey Joe? Schmeilling? et all???....come on! Floyd could well win ALL those fights at HW.
What amazes me is that so many Patterson-trashers say..."well, he never fought anyone like...so and so...not mentioning that THEY never fought anyone like Floyd.
The china-chin rap is overrated IMO.
Styles make fights; I've seen Tunney-Young posts, among others, on fantasy matchups here.
They may well have raised hell against some of the big bangers thruout history. But Floyd may have gotten to both of them at some point.
I think if he had been 10 years younger, he would have been a major force against the 70's heavies.
Again, different eras, HAD Floyd come along 10 years later, he would have been bigger and more chiseled, say 200 or so pounds.
Hell the Klitsko (sp.) brothers would have been around 215-220 pounders in the late 40's - early 50's.
    My somewhat weak $0.02.
In closing, Floyd would have raised hell against ANY HW in any era.

Roy might rank ahead of Floyd on a P4P list....I have only done a top 25 P4P list and RJJ does not even crack that for me....I can't see him as top 10, in any way!

    Floyd Patterson vs. Ernie Terrell

Instead of fighting Muhammad Ali in November 1965,,,,,

Floyd takes on 'Big Ernie' for the WBA Heavyweight Championship in September 1965.

Betting-Odds, maybe a slight edge for 'Big Ernie' at (7 to 5).

Good catch, now lets move on from that one tho IMO Floyd made that matchup seem much more one-sided than it could have been with all his personal demons.
Style wise, Liston may have been the WORST matchup he could have walked into. What are your feelings on the rest of what I mentioned?
