What, in your opinion, are Patterson's greatest fights? As always, the criteria is your own! For me, probably...

    Johannsson I
    Machen
    Johannson II
    Moore (In context)
    Hurricane Jackson I
    Chavulo
    Bonevena
    Hurricane Jackson II
    Brian London
    Yvon Durelle I

    Other notables:
    Tom McNeely
    Pete Rademacher
    Roy Harris
    Yvon Durelle II
    Charley Powell
    Henry Cooper
    Terry Daniels

Wonderful fighter. I wish his fights vs Liston were not so one sided as it did tarnish him in the eyes of many. Not for me though. IMO he was a fantastic fighter.

    Thanks! Results recorded.

Yeah, when I was a kid, Patterson was the one I just couldn't get into because of how Machen and Foley should have gotten shots. But I have to admit that over the years he has grown on me, and when you do the deep dive into his record, he's not that bad at all for a champ. Additionally, he had some losses that could of or should have been wins, like Maxim and Quarry, so you have to give him that respect, too.

He would be the perfect candidate for the 190 lb cruiserweight division. Unfortunately, he did not have the chin to compete with the 215 lb monsters like Liston. But yes, the fight vs Quarry should have been a win. Never saw the one vs Maxim but you are probably right. He definitely had a hall of fame career.

Can someone explain how "Johansson 1" is his greatest fight?

I just remember he got absolutely annihilated in that one.

People are interpreting the question as top 10 wins (which is how I thought the OP read until checking after reading your post). They/I mean his first win over Johansson.

Thanks. In the past I have just put the right number of the fight so I should have just done that here. I changed it up in the last vote tally.

Would probably substitute Henry Cooper for Hurricane Jackson
