I want this fight more than anything as a boxing fan, this is a once in a generation fight. God knows how long 2 GREAT fighters in their own right like these 2 will be around together at the same weight!

And time is running out for these guys. I don't want this to be another Jones V Hopkins/Calzaghe where the fight is meaningless because they've aged. I'd ather see the backs of them than that to be honest.

Is that $40 mill a fixed amount that won't increase alongside PPV and other money?

If so, then why would Pac take that over a 50-50 deal that would allow him to take more if the event does really well?

Arum is now fed up with Floyd's hide and seek game. no way this fight will happen dealing with the mind of a 13 yr old kid.

In Mayweather vs Ortiz Mayweather pocketed 40mil when it was all said and done. But had to pay 12mil in expenses prior to that. 10mil for "advertising (radio spots, print ads, TV commercials), publicity (press tours, news conferences), sanctioning fees, legal contracts and insurance." and 2 mill to pay Ortiz purse.

If he did 10mil in expenses for Ortiz the question is how much in expenses would Mayweather spend for the Pac fight? Plus Ortiz only made 2mil purse, Pac will make 40mil purse. Say Mayweather spends anywhere between 10-20mil on marketing for this fight and pays Pac 40mil guarantee. That would be 50mil-60mil in expenses and this is without Pac getting % of total rev, this after Time Warner cable or Dish taking there cut which is half and HBO taking there cut.(I'm not sure how much they take out)

Or take less even it does well but doesn't do the astronomical numbers and make all these hundreds of millions that some seem to think it will. For this fight to make 250 million dollars would be Huge, there is at least a 50/50 chance that the fighters don't make $40 million, not saying they won't but it's definitely not a given.

40M is more than fair. The problem is Arum gets up to 80% of Manny's purse and the IRS and VQ gets the rest. Manny doesn't even deserve 25M let alone 40M. You guys are outta yo ****in minds. Manny has never taken home 12M on his own in a fight. You think Heymon doesn't know that! You guys are ****in sick!

The gross revenue of the fight will immediately be cut in half as 50-55% go to the distributors of the PPV and all the outlets. Hence 200 million fight will be 100 million right off the top...then you can go from there. I posted two articles above that provide the 50-55% number to distributors.

Well, many insiders, including Floyd's own team and Arum, in the past have expected PPV buys to reach 3 mill. I know, I too laughed at that. But if that's true, then at $50 (if that's how much you guys pay over there) they'd rake in $150 mill from the PPVs alone. Then add the gates, PPV money from countless other countries, casinos, other ****, then there's an easy chance for it to exceed $250 million.

It's a risk worth taking for Pac. Because if he's sitting there with a relatively small piece of drie cake, and looks across the table at Floyd who's got a nice 90 degree lump in his plate, getting chocolate flakes sprinkled on, with maple syrup and cream and ****....then Pacquiao's gonna' be kicking himself.

I'm fine with Pac turning down the 40mil offer if he doesn't feel comfortable with it and thinks he can make more money on a 50/50 co promotion. That's fine, the point though is to show people why Mayweather would say or feel 50/50 can't happen since he would be the one paying the expenses in this circumstance.

If Arum mans up and decides that he is willing to do a co promotion on May 5th then I bet there will be no problem with a 50/50 split just like there was no problem with it weeks ago.

i think when it comes to money and percentages and who gets what...i think the fans should kind of let it play out cus we have no clue really on whats goin on with the money invested in this fight...im sure both parties have they're own ideas and agendas witht his money something i think we cant really get a hand on so its hard to tell whats really goin on.

I'd rather they just did this behind scenes without people knowing. When they use the media outlets like they do its just a bunch of back and forth face saving.
