Calzaghe taking Froch apart isn't good for British boxing.

I seriously hope he can bring money, but i doubt it.

And would it top the money he could get from a fight with Froch in the U.K?.

Doubtfull, plus the PPV would be terrible aswell, Calzaghe isnt on PPV over here and neither sell over there.

On the plus side, he hates Froch, so maybe wont fancy giving him a payday, but i think he cares more about his own wallet than Carl's.

Maybe if Chad goes on the rampage, decks a few cops, gropes Tarver's wife in the build up to the fight, KO's him in the 2nd, headbut's Merchant in the interview and takes the **** out of Calz's dad while doing it, he could drum up enough publicity to make him a huge star in 5 months, it might happen.

Or if HBO just put a shitload of cash, and a bit of faith behind him, it might come off.

It's all talk, just publicity. Calzaghe would never give Froch that payday.

Yeah I was discussing this on another forum. Currently Dawson has a two fight deal with HBO, one of them is against Tarver, and the other fight would be against either Hopkins, Calzaghe, or Johnson.

As much as I would hate to see Calzaghe vs Froch that is most likely what will happen next. He gets to keep his undefeated record and get a lot of cash. Besides it would be a farewell fight.

It could only happen this year if Froch gets a profile in the US to get HBO on board and the only way he could presently do that quickly enough at 168 is by beating Taylor. Although there is one sure fire way Froch could get Calzaghe in the ring in the next 18 months and that is by beating Kessler. Hatton's lawyer, who also represents Calzaghe, is rumoured to not only have been discussing the Pac fight with Golden Boy. A usually reliable source advised putting some money on Calzaghe-Hopkins II probably in June. I'd have said it was an outside bet until reading Calzaghe's latest newspaper column last week

Bad? I don't know when JC last had a stop, but he would turn Froch into haggis. And if you read the article, NO real sense this is even being discussed. Like I said before, even JC's biggest huggers would be up in arms over this one.

Joe wont fight froch for 1.Theres not enough money on the table 4 joe 2 fight froch and 2.Joe wont give froch the fight against him so froch can make a decent pay off of joe because he belives froch made his name slacking him off all the time.I would love 2 see them fight just 2 end both of them chatting boll*ks all the time.

Forget the Daily Mail, no sources, and their front page usualy consists of ‘Mi5 killed Princess Diana. They dont know **** about Boxing and never give it coverage.

Floyd HAS opened negotiations with both Pac and Hatton, he will be waiting with opens arms for the winer to fight him: $$$$$$$

Calzaghe will not fight Froch, thats academic. Theres more chance of Witter fighting Hatton. It makes no sense. How will Froch further ‘cement Joe’s legacy’? He has been a world champion for just over a month, it makes no sense. He hates him, he wont go down in weight, its a non issue. (also, no dis-respect to Joe, but I think Froachs chin may have worried him, if he had watched the Pascal fight)

I see Dawson V Calzaghe @ Millennium stadium in July. 80, 000 fans, one more over-rated Yank on the bedpost, goodbye Boxing from Mr. Calzaghe.

same here,it is more of exciting risk fight as joe got dropped first round in his last two at lhw and there is that doubt there which makes the fight more interesting.
froch fight is almost guaranteed win for calzaghe which is hard to get excited about.

If Joe keeps hanging his chin out to dry like he did against RJJ somenoe is going to break it off. I really hope he retires undefeated but I think he might be pushing it a bit. RJJ was past it and the B-Hop win was debatable. In terms of British boxing it would be good to see Joe fight Froch, (the lack of respect for a fellow fighter is always a shame to see). Dawason would bea match for people who know boxing whereas Froch would be a fight that middle of the road fans would watch. A British fight these days seems to mean up and coming fighters or Matt Skelton lumbering his way ino the usual British heavyweight suspects. Haye v Maccarinelli showed what excitement could be generated for a proper British fight and I don't think Macc is/was any more well known that Froch and Calzaghe is bigger than Haye so it'd be bums on seats at the millennium for that one. If Joe is so confident about beating Froch why doesn't he just get the job done?

Bull**** story. Calzaghe didn't even mention Froch in his speech. For all our american friends, the daily mail is a ghastly and unreliable publication. Don't believe a word of it.
