explain the 130lb wbc sanctioning fee he paid for fighting genaro

lets not forget about the 9 title defenses he had where he had to pay the sanctioning fee

than lets not forget about winning the wbc lw title from castillo...

O yea and he defended that title 3 times so he had to pay some more sanctioning fees

than the 140lb wbc title from gatti..not to mention that he had to fight 2 wbc title eliminators to get that belt..

At 147 he dropped the ibf belt before fighting carlos...carlos was also for the wbc ww championship..

Not to mention he defended the wbc belt against ricky

and he also paid the sanctioning fee for the oscar fight when he won the 154 lb wbc title..

So to say that he is only loyal to money is stupid...the majority of his fights he has had to pay some sort of sanctioning fee..

I'd bet it has something to do with the capped/uncapped fees, as suggested earlier. Floyd doesn't need belts anymore, they won't bring him greater fame or money, so if they're gonna charge an unreasonable fee, no surprise he'd turn it down.

How can someone honestly believe a guy is loyal to a belt? Mayweather is above belts. He's not fighting for that WBA belt because they're charging him too much money. This was mentioned months ago. Scahefer even commented that he was going to try to negotiate with the WBA to lower the fee. Clearly he wasn't successful. This all comes down to money, not loyalty.

Yes, it does answer the question about why Floyd loves the WBC.

Why would he go for the WBC again at this stage of his career? His name alone is already big enough to attract great fights and make money. He doesn't need a ****ing belt now for the elites to have a reason to get at him.

He has always viewed the wbc belt as the real championship. Out of his 6 titles, 5 are the wbc, He vacated the ibf title straight away after he won. Maybe he sees their rankings as the most accurate. IMO it is the best belt out of the 4 legit world titles.
