If Martinez beats Chavez Jr, he should fight Floyd in December. At this time, I'd rather see that fight then an old Pacquiao. Floyd cannot retire without fighting Martinez AND Pacquiao. Martinez is willing to come down to 154! Floyd says he's the greatest but without beating Martinez who knows. And for everyone saying that he'd destroy Martinez, you don't know that. NO one knows if Martinez would beat him either. That is why it should happen. Sergio is even older then Floyd. I'm not a Sergio fan, I'm just a fan of good fights.
First of all, Martinez is getting knocked out by Chavez so no. Second of all, Floyd is scared of Martinez and said he'd only fight him at a CW of 150
That won't be a good fight. Serg is a hype job. Floyd easily outboxes him. But there won't even be a fight since Serg is losing to Jr.
I think it's more likely that Mayweather takes a lengthy amount of time off that fight Canelo. I'd rather see Mayweather-Pacquiao first, Martinez should take on Geale after Chavez Jr, then Golovkin if he gets another impressive win in the meantime.
@ 154 if Serge can still make it reasonably comfortably. I'd still take Floyd on points at a cw or even if he tries for Martinez' mw titles (assuming he still has them post Saturday). These are the kind of fights I want to see Floyd in. Where his abilities are stretched. Where he's gotta' reach for it. This is the path to the adoration he craves. During his fight w/Cotto, in between rounds where his corner actually had to mop up some blood and the crowd was cheering, you could see in his eyes that he was likin' it. It looked to me like this was the **** that he'd been pining for in any number of post fight interviews where he questioned why he was not more beloved by the fans and critics, having badly outclassed some obviously lesser opponent. Nut up and do it Floyd. :bbb
I hope sergio beats jcc jr and fights floyd at 154 I mean whats else is there for floyd, canelo? Best case sergio beats jcc and fights floyd in late december, pac beats bradley by ko and leaves arum, Floyd vs pac. I'm an optimist though.
Yeah, they liked Ali a lot more when he came back off his long layoff and wasn't the same fighter. So it takes a decline in a Great fighter to be more appreciated. Whatta World.
