Floyd should get 60-70% of the purse against Pacquiao

This fight should be 50/50 end of.

Pacquiao is just as a big draw as Floyd. And I wouldn't be surprised that he became a bigger draw after his last fight.

Floyd had bigger numbers against the same fighters Pac beat AFTER Floyd, and if he sells more ppv's with Marquez than PAc did, how could Arum and PAc fight any offer Floyd makes??

if floyd should get 70% or 60% against pac, then he should stop fighting these little men. cotto, mosley or williams are waiting for him at his own weight and would probably give him as much as 70%.

why do these joyboys need to raise floyd's purse as if they would get their share from it? :patsch

hmm says... serious questions whilst on topic. I think this topic is about merit and marketability.

Obviously, I believe Pac deserves more out of merit because his accomplishments surpasses that of PBF's who was inactive for almost 2 years. Their accomplishments are similar but not equal. Just looking at merit alone, how can someone argue for 60-70 if he's been inactive a long time? How does one sustain that much negotiating power during one's absence?

Out of the two, PBF knows how to market himself. People love or hate him and without a doubt he brings an audience (doesn't necessarily mean fans). Sure people would pay to see him lose. Just looking at marketability, obviously PBF deserves more between the two because he knows how to sell himself. BOTH ARE MARKETABLE in their own respective way; Pac is dubbed the #1 entertainer but PBF just knows how to edge the other guy with his charisma and antics. However, isn't negotiating power and boxing based on merit and not "who sells and draws the most audience?" If so, can you give some examples of fighters that didn't accomplish more than his opponent but still got the lion's share out of marketability.

All in all, I believe the lions share of the cut should fall solely on merit and not on marketability. Just remember, it was PBF's merit, like other greats, that started to get him big paydays until he became the entertainer "Money". So why not Pac? That's why I believe one of PBF's reasons for fighting JMM is to get closer to a 50-50 when he probably knows he can't get 60 or 70... I don't know why people are bringing up past PPV numbers and such to support their claims... This is boxing; it's not about who has set or will set the highest ppvs....... something to think about... we shall see.

If that's the case, then why is it when PBF fights the same bums and old men he doesn't bring the same excitement?

Bull ****ing ****. 70% is laughable. He should get 50-50 at best.

Other than his fans what has Pac brought to the table? he did 800k or so buys with Hatton - when Floyd fought Hatton they did 1m each in the US and the UK. Hatton hadn't even been on PPV before that.

DLH vs Pac didnt do 1/2 of what Mayweather vs DLH did ... you're talking about a guy who's a ppv draw against a guy who's just found popularity.

They're not on the same level -- Floyd is the more marketable fighter ... he's the one thats undefeated and he has more to lose than Pacquiao does ... Pacquiao and TopRank should be appreciative that they're going to get the biggest payday of their lives no matter if Floyd chooses to give 30-35-or 40%

i think the reason why floyd returned is to get a shot at fighting pac. he won't fight the other guys like cotto or williams. either he's scared or there's just not enough money. in that case, pac gets to call the shots. then after the pac fight, he will retire again.

Floyd called out Cotto at 140 ... he called out Mosley at 135 and 147 ... and Williams was his mandatory but chose to fight Margarito instead.
