I would like to see him fight Pacquiao like everyone else, but i'd be just as happy id he just retired and went away. He hasnt been great for boxing the last three years cause he is basically just hanging around and making the fans wait on him instead of giving us the fights we want. He never had a career defining fight, but we all tuned in to watch him every time anticipating that the next fight would be the one. That fight never came, and at this point it may never come. An official retirement would be better than this game he has been playing, and then we could focus our attention to the up an coming fighters and willing champions.

Actually he's been good for boxing in terms of promoters income. But for boxings image? nope.

FMJ doesn't need to retire. He needs to fight Manny Pacquiao. Two prime, first ballot HOFers, both of which are at the very least top 40 ATGs...we don't get to see that caliber of matchup very often in boxing.

I agree that he has not been good for boxing. Anytime a fighter makes the rules himself, then he is not good for boxing.

I personally enjoy his fights and am not waiting for that "career defining fight", have you seen how he's dominated most of his opposition? He's not good for boxing based on what, his image and the fact that he won't fight without blood testing? Okay....

people know who he is....i say JMM or Jaunma....and people look at me with blank stares...i said floyd mayweather and everyone knows who i am talking about...heck, before the pac-cotto fight, i would saw pacquiao and got blank stares

this is not saying anything about who is a better fighter, better person, etc., but in a sport that is far from being in the mainstream, he is a recognized and known figure
