Floyd should make cotto fight the williams/cintron winner

I really think floyd should let cotto prove himself a bit more by making him grab the other three trinkets. If cotto can grab the WBO and IBF trinkets then I will consider him the real deal and the fight vs floyd should go through.

imagine floyd vs cotto UNDISPUTED Live on HBO ppv. The fight would probably do 2 million + buys. That is the best route for floyd and cotto. if they fight right away then the fight won't be as big. something else has to be on the line

I would like to see them fight in 2008, but a matchup between Cotto and the winner of Cintron/Williams, Margarito, or even De La Hoya would make a Mayweather matchup even bigger if Cotto can get past one or two of those tests without a loss.

I'm really not too big on this idea. If Floyd wins, they'll both be coming off big wins in front of a relatively large ppv audience. You also have to consider that Floyd isn't getting any younger. A fight this spring when they both have some good momentum going is the way to go for me.

Hey moron...why not have Floyd continue fighting rather then waiting almost a year for fight the winners? Aren't you a fan of Floyd's? Don't you want to see him in the ring?

Thank you for being a voice of reason when then fanboys start posting. Some losers would rather Floyd sit and do nothing for 8 months rather then be in the ring. Bigtime9 is so afraid of Floyd fighting someone he doesn't think is worthy (mainly becuase is would go against 95% of his bull**** posts) he'd rather Floyd not fight at all. atsch

good analysis as always:thumbsup I thought of that option but it seems the biggest fight for both would be for all the marbles on the line. Like you said floyd is not getting any younger, but the flip side is that floyd has had hand injuries in his past three fights (zab, baldo, hoya) a good 8-9 months of rest would give him a better chance of knocking cotto out.

rushing to fight cotto in the spring would not produce the bigger payday. While I wouldn't want to risk cotto's 0 I think cotto can get by the cintron/williams winner on june 5 (puerto rican day parade).

if he does then the promotion would explode and wouldn't have the interference of oscar's ppv to hamper the promotion.

december 08 UNDISPUTED for the 0's and all the titles. that is too good of a promotion to pass up.

It makes sense!! However who will Floyd fight in the mean time.. if Cotto is out there proving himself fighting true 147 fighters and Floyd is fighting Jr. Welters.. what would be the point?

If PBF wins.. then I am sure DLH vs COTTO will happen in May. Who will Floyd fight then? Why doesnt Floyd fight the winner of Cintron and Williams and then the winners of

Cintron vs Williams and Cotto vs DLH can face off end of 2008.. now that would be a big major fight!!!

floyd could fight mosley in july if he needed to but what would be the point.

and it would be a bad idea for HBO to let oscar fight cotto. cotto needs to beat the winner of williams/cintron to really get the buzz going for a pbf fight. Oscar will fight hatton in may (i hope) and cotto will fight winner of cintron/williams in june (MSG cintron vs cotto).

floyd needs to rest his hands and fight the winner of cotto vs the cintron/williams winner in a mega clash for the UNDISPUTED welterweight championship.

if floyd wins his fight against hatton, the cotto/mayweather fight should be next... forget cotto vs any other welterweight, its just a risk for him, the hype is on now to prove whos the best right now, not 2 years from now... he just destroyed judah and did the unthinkable against mosley by boxing and beating him... what else does he have to proveatsch .... they both will be undeafeated and thats a lot in the line... trust me you are very wrong, this fight would sell now... dont let what happend to the big hype of something similar to Trinidad/ Roy Jones happend again...

who has more money cotto or floyd so a cotto making 3 mill per fight is going to tell floyd who is making 15 mill per fight to go fight someonelse. what type of drug are you smoking.

cotto's legacy runs through floyd and no one elses. beating hoya is not going to give cotto more legacy points then beating floyd for the UNDISPUTED 147 title and taking floyd's 0. so no you are wrong cotto has to prove he is for real. floyd is doing that with hatton cotto has to do it with the cintron/williams winner:deal

you talk about floyd as if he is god or something. Cotto has proved himself more worthy in the most dominant division the, welterweight division, than floyd has. Cotto has beaten the one of the top three fighters in the division in Mosley (cotto and mayweather being the other two) and gave Judah an ass kicking that he never got before and floyd couldn't give him. What has floyd done in the division?? beat baldomir?? sharmba mitchell?? yea he fought oscar at 154 but he has done nothing in this weight class to be "making" cotto earn a fight. Mayweather wouldn't fight mosley, cotto did and won. Cotto mayweather would never happen because mayweather will never get in the ring with him. Mayweather was only interested in fighting cotto when he was still a green inexperienced up and comer.
