Floyd's legacy is of a pretty boy premadonna fighter who self proclaimed himself the best but when the real boxing fans look back they'll notice that he fought in the best division in boxing in his era, but has faced none of the best fighters in the division. Cotto, shane, margarito, even williams and cintron. Floyd has faced none. he only wants to fight overrated junior welterweights.

Exactly - he's handpicked opponents ever since he moved up to 140.

He doesn't care about a legacy, he only cares about $$$.

However, he's trying very hard to create a legacy by constantly claiming to be the best.

Truth be told, he became undisputed 147 champ by beating a VERY limited opponent in Baldomir, who only held the belts because he beat the ill-disciplined headcase Judah 1 fight prior.

Will Baldomir ever be remembered as being a great 147 undisputed champ? Will Judah for that matter, in light of his actions and performances since losing his belts to Baldomir? I don't think so.

 

at the end of the day, this fight should happend now than 2 years from now... its not about who makes more money... does mayweather make a lot of money, yea of course, but if he wants to shut the people up, he has to put money aside and fight what the people want to see, if he wants to be remember as one of the best... and trust me, if and when he ever he fights cotto, he will be making a lot of money, so money won't be an excuse in this one...

Judah actually still had the IBF belt when Floyd fought him.

Baldomir was not 16-1 when Floyd fought him. I believe his was something like 41-9, and he didn't get lucky against Judah. He won a decision, out fighting a guy over 12 rds is not getting lucky.

Floyd is fighting a career JWW, but it's not like Hatton is a small JWW, and Floyd is hardly a big WW. Are guys from different divisions not supposed to fight eachother?

In case you hadn't noticed, Floyd is NOT the undisputed WW champ.

He's just one of the belt holders. One that's making guys come up weight classes, truth be told.

 

Floyd can't make Cotto do anything. I would like the winner of Williams-Cintron fight Cotto though. Maybe Cotto could fight Margo in a six fighter elimination for the undisputed championship.
