**** it. 30 years old. Multi millionaire. Sealed legacy. Sure there are a few fighters who have had greater careers but most of them have paid dearly for it with their livelihood.

in the end he has accomplished more than enough in the sport

If he hadn't complained about his body breaking down i wouldn't be making this thread but being what it is, i think retirement is his best option.

If he won't fight Cotto, or even Paul Williams, then he might as well retire.

actually its on topic. And ima floyd advocate on these threads. But to me the next logical fight for him is Cotto. If he doesnt wanna fight Cotto, or Cintron, or Williams, then wats the sense. Hes not gonna fight at 140, and I dont think theres any money fights at 54, so I mean If he wont fight any of them, might as well just retire and promote as he said he would.

Thanks. For all the times I'm called HATER but the idiots on this board, I just want to see Floyd use his skill against a live dog. Or against someone who gives Floyd a challenge. I want to see him dig deep and BE the greatest fighter he can be. If he doesn't want to fight any of those guys, why continue? Might as well just mail floyd an envelope of your money, since you get the same outcome.

From a business standpoint and a fighter's standpoint, Mayweather SHOULD retire. He has secured his legacy as an all time great, a first ballot hall of famer, he has made more than enough money, and he still has good health for a long-time prizefighter. I wouldn't consider him a ***** if he never fought again, just smart.

Now from a fan's standpoint (which is mine), I would love to see him fight again. His activity in the sport could help to make the next few years the best in a long time. There are still challengers, worthy ones at that, for him to face and his tenure at WW would seem incomplete without facing some of them.

My prediction: He fights next year in another megafight against Miguel Cotto

Floyd could retire now but he would be cheating himself. If Cotto goes on to forge a highly successful career, people will always point to the fact that he didn't fight him. Floyds career right now is great, but with Cotto and Williams it could very well be extraordinary. If Cotto and Williams go on to bigger and better things after getting beaten by Floyd, he would probably IMO go down as the number 1 ATG, as it is impossible to compare resume to older day fighters. I can't believe the Mayweather fans here don't want this. He is only 30 FFS, he has more then a few good years left. He could easily make both of these fights and retire, silencing all the critics once and for all. People here say that if he beats Cotto and Williams there will be someone else, but I guarantee most true fans will realise the truth, that he is truely something special. I just want to see him really prove himself either way, as not just a great fighter, but truely on of the best. Same with Cotto. Cotto IMO no matter what he does in his career, needs a win over Mayweather to secure his legacy. HE DESERVES HIS SHOT.

Cotto and Floyd will both be remembered as greats. But this fight is going to be one that makes one or both of them legends either way. It needs to happen. Fights of this calibre come along once a decade. I can't beleive people here aren't absolutey thrilled about this. I could not imagine anything better.
