How many fighters were inducted this year, was only if i remember correctly:think Thats why I assumed there was a limit, because you would think they would included some deserving old time fighters also.

Quality fighter with some great wins. And the thing is in spite of the great career he had, with three titles in threee weight divisions, I like to think that he could have accomplished more during his career, had he been more dedicated. He came across to me as something of a lazy fighter both inside and outside the ring.

 

Considering the IBHOF is a Mecca for boxing fans, I find this very disappointing and depressing. I had envisaged something much better.

 

Timing.

It wasn't 5 years between their last fights and the HOF weekend of the previous years. If their last fights were in January they would have been in the year before.

 

damn, I said back at the time on this very forum that Hatton taking on that utter bozo of a man Floyd snr would be the end of him, in fact? I went on about it quite a bit!
& so it was, & now the old git has tried to blame Hattons failure on anything but himself, words fail me when trying to talk sensibly about Floyds attention ***** of a father, who was more busy trying to sell himself than the fight itself:-(

 

In my opinion Hatton doesn't belong in the HOF.

His best win was over a shot opponent (with help from the ref), he lost his 2 biggest test's and he never really beat anybody of note.

JLC was fighting for money, Maussa only held the belt because of an upset win over Harris, Urango proved to be a dud, Malignaggi also proved to be a dud considering he's lost pretty much every major fight since he fought Hatton. I thought Hatton lost to Collazo and he was terrible against Lazcano, after looking through it all i can't see how he get's in the HOF

 

He'll get in for the number of fans he attracted and the sheer following he had, it was incredible.

 

True i agree, there's never been a British fighter who's took as many fan's as Hatton did, but that's all he'll get in for

 

Bit harsh to say 'he lost to his 2 biggest tests' like it's really damning.

His 2 biggest tests happened to be the 2 best fighters of that era.

That isn't what you said. You described the Commonwealth title as the IBO of British titles... do you know what the Commonwealth is?
