In an interview on another website floyd sr replied to Shane mosleys comment that he trained Oscar in a way that didnt suit him: ''...when LiL Floyd come back and gets a couple more fights, im going to make sure Mosley gets hes ass whooped''
only way PBF would dream of getting in with sugar shane is when he's old and decrepid. just as Calzaghe only dared to fight RJJ when he was over 40 and needed a zimmer frame to get into the ring.
Wrong, you guys really need to research before making comments. Floyd Challenged Shane , when Floyd was the Welter weight king, it was mosley that turned the fight down to go on vacation .. Mosley also turn down a show down when he was 135 and floyd was 130, in mosley defense he turned down floyd to move the 147 to fight Oscar.
yeah but the same goes for Roy also. Roy only would fight Calzaghe after Roy knew that he had an excuse if he lost. Roy never fought the level of Calzaghe before. But when he started losing he knows people will just say he lost because he was old and not because he was not as good as Calzaghe. Fact is Roy looked good with Shieka and Tito. So Calzaghe still beat him.
You give Calzaghe credit for beating that Roy? And yet even himself said way before they even made the fight that he would gain nothing from beating Roy now and it was a pointless fight. :rofl
floyd bid himself out of having to get KOed by Mosley by demanding $20 million guaranteed. it was an artful way of dodging Shane Mosley. Floyd will wait a few years to handpick Mosley when he shows signs of slowing down or is need of a final payday like Marquez.
What about when Mosley had a toothache and took a near year off after he offered a fight against Floyd? or when he said he was turning Floyd down for his boss? Floyd wanted 20m to come straight out of retirement. Even if Floyd did that you would say Mosley is old and Floyd waited for him to get old.
To be fair you can't exactly blame Mosley for taking DLH instead of Floyd back then, it was the bigger fight. A fight between the two now would be interesting I'm sure, Mosley looked tremendous in his last fight. I wouldn't like to attempt to pick a winner.
Last i heard, mosley had a toothache when Floyd offered the fight on the table. Even back back, Floyd wanted to face Mosley in an all out 135 showdown but mosley didnt want none. I understand that he had bigger " fishes " to fry but the fact is the fight was offered to him not only once but twice. Floyd schools him. Dont let the margo fight fool any of you as margo was tailor made.. just tailor made for mosley..
I suspect his 'boss' over-ruled him on that one.....shame it bit him in the bollocks when the fight came off
