Floyd Sr on Calzaghe

I'm not impressed with Floyd Sr. but he speaks the truth. Most people (Calzaghe fans) dont want to hear the truth so they of course protect their wonderboy by discrediting Floyd Sr. . Its true, Sr. is a douche, and probably not a bright man but, he does know boxing and he has the balls to speak the truth . Look Calzaghe is a good fighter but, he is way overhyped by his fans and when he retires experts will always question his level of competition.

After watching this little clip shows me that Roy Jones would capitalize on the fact that Calzaghe doesn't throw straight punches and that he leaves himself open for straight punches.

Calzaghe has no technical skill, but is fast and relentless ...

He showed against Hopkins that he exposes his chin alot and that he's open for the straight right hand ... a punch that Jones is very good at throwing.

Jones in addition to that is just as fast as Calzaghe and his endurance and stamina is up to par.

RJJ has a chance to knockout Calzaghe and can do it on Calzaghe's home turf. I read somewhere that the fight may take place in Las Vegas - Warren made an agreement w/ Planet Hollywood to host another fight there. Expect to see a PPV card w/ Jones v Calzaghe headlining it ... and featuring Amir Khan on the undercard ... it would be nice to see Khan v Casamayor or Khan v Campbell. Campbell and Jones are both promoted by Don King ... while Khan and Calzaghe are promoted by Frank Warren.

I call it the ****** paw. But he is tough and relentless and he does keep his eyes on his opponent while charging in so if he is hit he sees it. You have to get a shot under his jaw. A guy like James Toney with a good right uppercut would put him to sleep. Thats why I crack up with the crack pots say prime for prime he beats James Toney and he does not even throw straight shots like usual southpaws. He has to get inside to be effective and we all know he has no defense but his offense in there. A counter puncher with good short power shots wet dream. Bhop is the first pure good counter puncher he faced and he found him with ease at 43.

 

This was one of the rounds Calzaghe won doing the same ****. I just counted six missed punches or slaps or whatever you call it.

 

I'm just wondering if Calzaghe has enough power to hurt Jones, if he can't Jones might have enough confidence to pull an upset. But in the end I just see Calzaghe winning just by outworking Jones.

 

Jones does fight in spurts now b/c of his old age. Just like Bhop.

calzaghe isnt' a fraud, he just isnt what his fans blow him up to be. Good fighter, I wouldnt consider him an ATG though
