“I know exactly how to tell my son [how] to beat Pacquiao. I know how to tell my son how to beat him, but, you know what? You gotta remember, every day, he’s getting older,” stated Floyd Mayweather Sr., who spoke about his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the possibility of a fight with Manny Pacquiao. According to Mayweather Sr., although he’s confident that he has the right gameplan to secure a victory over the Filipino superstar, he’s concerned that his son may be spending too much time away from the ring and may require, not one, but possibly two tune-up fights before a fight with Pacquiao can come to fruition.

“I don’t care who it is, man. Anybody that stays out of a ring, I don’t give a damn who they is…it’s something to be concerned about, anybody being out a length of time, because boxing, man, you have to, in order to stay crisp and sharp, you gotta be sparring and stuff,” Mayweather Sr. would tell FightHype’s own Ben Thompson in an exclusive interview. “It is a deal where he might have to fight a couple of tune-ups.”

They are definitely scared of Pacquiao..:deal

Doesn't mean he's gonna do it. Floyd Sr. has no control of Jr.'s career. Floyd Sr. said Spadafora was next and Roger and FLoyd Jr. shot that down

Anyone who stays out of the ring for over a year would need a tune-up before fighting an upper-echelon opponent. Common sense and fear are not synonyms.

The Mayweathers have all been saying that Pacquiao is just an easy fight and that he has no skills at all, and now all of a sudden they would want 2 tune-ups? Probably after these tune-ups, Floyd would retire again just to avoid Pacquiao..

Whatever he's doing Floyd is pissing away so much of his career with inactivity. If he was fighting it would be one thing, but he hasn't fought since beating Mosley last May.

You'd have to be a ****** not to realise his plan is to wait for Pac to slow down. It's blatantly obvious.

Tune-up, retire, tune-up, retire.... the last refuge of someone avoiding to fight, bluntly speaking, quack.

Since when was Floyd senior the most accurate barometer of what Floyd Jr. is going to do? Floyd Sr. is giving Floyd Sr.'s opinion. Just take it for what it is.

I agree with Floyd Sr.'s statements.
    It's true - inactivity hurts.

I couldn't care less whether Floyd Jr, ever fights again though.

Dude, try and see clearly here, I mean Jesus ****ing Christ, how dumb are you? You really think he is gonna fight Pac after a "tune-up" fight? He's probably gonna go to "vacation" again. I mean he did say he's like the Superbowl, he only fights once a year.
