I am very happy to hear this as it really does give a new angle to the rematch. It seems everyone on here has a short memory, the fight was close going into the final rounds and if DLH used his jab a bit more he would have won the fight.

I still don't know how u can train a fighter to beat your son ..If i'm Floyd I would do everything in my power to kill Oscar in the ring ..But it makes for one compelling drama!!

I think this will motivate FLoyd even more to beat ODLH, because he will be fighting his dad too whom he seems to despise!!

But I will pull for Oscar to get the upset

De La Hoya's jab was his best weapon over the first 7-8 rounds. When he was aggressive and came with heavy artillery behind the jab he was effective. Mayweather never defended the jab very well, usually getting caught with it while backing up from the centre ring towards the ropes.

De La Hoya was very competitive for around two thirds of the fight. His defense throughout the first 7-8 rounds often gets overlooked when the fight gets talked about. He caught many of Mayweather's punches with his high guard. This way of defending was also very effective when he fought Trinidad as well.

I always thought De La Hoya should have boxed with Mayweather instead of constantly pressuring him. He would have a much better chance of catching Mayweather if somehow he can reverse the roles and make Mayweather come towards him during spells of the fight. Pressure without question is a must, but variation is another key aspect against Mayweather IMO.

Mayweather snr said he thought De La Hoya beat his son. He wasn't too impressed with his son and said that De La Hoya gave him problems. If memory serves me correctly it was through the Grand Rapids press I read the quotes.

i reckon oscar has a better chance of winning this time round, he will train harder and wont be so fazed by floyds mind games....... all oscar needs to do is keep the pace, and he will win because of work rate and domination

Ditto. And this is just a gimmic, its the only possible way to make anyone believe the result will be any different.

you knew it was going to happen. Hell, Sr. is just doing this to one up Roach.

at least the 24/7 with the Mayweather Sr. Quotes should be more interesting.
