Yes yes he is the best... people say roy and honeslty i said roy after the ruiz fight but floyd barring a crazy knock out will be number on in this era heneeds to retire... Which is what roy should have done after the Ruiz fight But they would be neck and neck but roy got Ko'd twice in a row that will eliminate any fighter floyd is the best On D,O headmovemnt and ablity to move around the ring i think so as do Hopkins and Srl

Mayweather beats Cotto and Williams he's best of his era and perhaps much higher as an ATG WW:yep

If Floyds walks out now? ITS :-(

All a fighter can do is fight the top comp and let the pieces fall where they may. ALL THE GREAT ONES HAVE, and Floyd still has a couple steps to climb.

Look at the fighters Mayweather has beat.

You're telling me that Cotto and paul Williams offer a challenge bigger than those!?!

Gatti, Corley, Castillo, Corrales, Chavez, Judah, Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton.

Paul Williams is an awkward fighter, don't get me wrong...not many want to fight a 6' 1" southpaw. But he's hardly one of the biggest names in the weight division, let alone the sport. How is Floyd going to extend his already massively impressive resume with him.

Cotto is an altogether different challenge. Strong as an ox, outboxed the great Shane Mosley only a few months ago and has all the tools for a great fight. He is unbeaten, has a decent resume and a decent cult status in Puerto Rico. He is recognised as being a decent standard, with a good boxing brain and the ability to give anyone a fight.

But Floyd has nothing left to prove - he lives only for big pay days and the chance to say look - I beat that guy on top of all these other guys and no-one can beat me. I think Cotto or Mosley fit that bill, and if he's up for more superbouts, let's get it on!!

Im sure hes working on a fight with cotto right now, or thinking about it, when he can get the most money for it he will do it, maybe we will see it next cinco de mayo, 2009. Hopefully this summer or within the year.

Hopkins is the fighter of this era.

He's acheived more, for longer and done more than Floyd or Jones Jnr.

Yes, they are bigger Challenges. They are prime and undefeated. On top of that? Floyd's never beat all the top guys at any weight class and what better weight to do it in than 147? Floyd isnt close ti the TOP ATG's in comp either overall or at WW. So yes, there's more to prove, when Floyd says he's the GOAT:yep

You're fooling yourself if you believe that the boxing public doesnt know Cotto and Williams, they have belts for Christs sake and Williams beat Margarito and has a fight with Quintana in Feb, so if he wins? He's clearly the #2 behind Cotto.

And was Hatton not unbeaten in the prime of his career?

You're fooling yourself if you think Williams, Margarito et al are more skilled and well known than the likes of Judah, Hatton, Castillo, Corrales and De La Hoya.

Hopkins and Roy are both ahead of him. IF he beats Cotto then we can say hes the best.

Well define "era" first, but unless you go back pretty far the only ones who are up there is Joe C. and BHop; Tyson, Lewis, and Holyfield are all in the conversation depending again on "era"

I'd say he's the most skilled, but he's not as acomplished as Bernard. No freakin' way.
