You bring up some good points and half truths. Oscar and Castillo were both bigger men with skill unlike Margarito. Shanes jab to the body and overhand right only worked once. He was bigger also and had speed. Pac is a beast though no doubt but Floyd is a different beast himself. He tames animals and makes them ineffective and less actve. Plus under random testing well see if Manny is the same fighter. No doubt last Saturday was an entertaining fight but it was against a man with no defense or mobility and alot slower but still managed to hurt Manny and land over 200 shots himself . The fight though was Rockem Sockem. Floyd doesn't play that game so well have to see.
Only other guy to wobble Floyd other than Shane . Laugh it up but Manny has taken much more damage and even KO'ed. I guess you can count Zab and Ricky but those shots just made him off balance .
It's an incredibly intriguing, and compelling matchup and it'll be a crime if it doesn't come off. Can you imagine the buildup...the anticipation of the two of them walking to the ring... I think my head would explode just as the opening bell rang ! :boxer
Floydettes banked on hypothetical fights which Floyd never fought while *******s on Pac's actual fights. That's the big difference in all the threads these idiots are posting.
Well hopefully the fight would be such a classic that there would really be no losers. Aside from the obvious, that it is the classic matchup of an offensive buzzsaw vs a slick defensive master, there are so many intangibles that could only be determined in the ring. I think anyone who says it will be an "easy" night for either guy is crazy. I'd probably be cheering for Pac but if I had to bet my house it'd be on May...I think stylistically he has the advantage but its not a sure thing by any means. As someone else said, however, he would have to go through hell and back to win this fight and at this point in his career, I'm not sure he's too excited about that prospect. Therefore, mentally, at this point, I think Pacman would have the slight edge going into the fight. As I said though, if you put a gun to my head, I'd favour FMJ.
Floyd is going to be VERY hard for Manny to hit, because Floyd won't get in the ring with him. Manny could hit him at a public gathering or something, but Floyd had a bunch of huge bodyguards to keep people from hitting him. His defense is truly impregnable.
Any possible advantage that Pacquiao might have Mayweather can answer. 1. Speed while Pacquiao might be faster it is not by much. Mayweather's own speed and size 5'8" 72" reach compared to Pacquiao 5′ 6½ 67" reach offsets any speed advntage Pacquiao would have. 2. Work rate. He will open him self up to right hand counters from Mayweather. Mayweather has a way of reducing the work rate of his oppoents. Pacquiao might not be able to throw as many punches as normal. 3. Power. Pacquiao's power is overrated. He has two stoppages both TKO's. Over De La Hoya a corner stoppage after 8 rounds and Coto in the 12th round. Pacquiao doesn't overwhelm or blow anyone out of the water. The Hatton win is the expetion not the rule. It is the long term effects of his punches throughout a fight that produces most of his stoppages. In otherwords he has to be able to hit Mayweather consistently throughout the fight. Mayeather has the best defense right now. Hitting him is no easy task. 4. Being a southpaw. It is sugested that being a southpaw is the best counter to the phillyshell style used by Mayweather. On the other hand the shell allows Mayweather to throw lead rights and left hooks. The best punches to use against a southpaw. 5. Footwork & Ring Generalship. We are dealling with the same issues when comparing their speed. Even if Pacquiao has better foot work and or ring generalship. It is not by much. Mayweather knows how to use his size advantage. Like with speed that will make up for any slight advantage Pacquiao might have. Don't use De La Hoya or Margarito as examples of Pacquiao overcoming a size disadvantage. Neither of them is Mayweather. 6. Pacquiao's Defense vs Mayweather's Offense. While Pacquiao's defense may be underrated so is Mayweather's offense. Mayweather may not throw a lot of punches but he dose not miss many either. While Mayweather's offense might not be the most exciting it is very effective. This all adds up to a one sided win for Mayweather.
terrific speed. great defence. good spoiler to. knows all the tricks. :yep manny is the more exciting of the 2. :bbb but not better than floyd. :nono
