The standard is for American times to be given in EST, with Central and/or Pacific sometimes added parenthetically. Unless otherwise specified, the assumption is EST when discussing times with other Americans online - except perhaps when you know the person(s) you're speaking with to be in the same zone as yourself.

The east is the coast with the most. :D

Of course, looking back at that tweet from Iole it is possible that he meant 9am local time in Las Vegas (which is Pacific, three hours behind eastern). So it could be another couple of hours yet.

Yeah i was thinking if it was 9am East it'd be like 6am Western time.

Ah well if it's going by Western time, we're looking at 5pm onwards over here in the UK

Kevin Iole tweeted this 45 minutes ago.

I'll attend the @FloydMayweather hearing in front of the NV Athletic Commission this a.m., then head to the @UFC fighter workouts!

No - but Iole said "9" which without qualification, to a wide internet audience can generally be assumed to mean EST.

As it happens, Iole just tweeted this about an hour ago:

"Meeting starts at 9 PT, and Floyd is the last agenda item. I'm guessing between 930-10 a.m. PT"

So it is Pacific (Vegas) time.

My original point, that Vidic was jumping the gun asking what the deal was already when the meeting wasn't until 9am (regardless of which American timezone, 8:06am EST was extremely premature either way) - stands. :good

Apparently there are rumours of a rematch with Ortiz according to Iole, and Schaefer said yesterday they will tell the commission who they are fighting during the hearing.

Sitting through hearings should be old hat for Floyd by now. :hey He'll be OK; I'm sure he's got a Gameboy or something.

fighthype says it's done pending Floyd getting licensed, and it'd be at 154, no weight draining for this one!
