He can underestimate them, but still train hard. is traniing camp will always be the same if he has the same trainer. Especially considering he likes keeping in shape in between fights.

I think it's reasonable to say he does underestimate how good his opposition is. Maybe if he took someone like Baldomir more seriously, he would have stopped him or something.

The best comparison I can think of here is the Corrales fight to, say, the Baldo one. Against Chico he was relentless and put a massive beating on him, because he knew he could. Against Baldomir, instead of risking it landing as many shots as possible and maybe forcing a stoppage, he was happier to avoid him for 12 rounds. Maybe it's because he took Corrales seriously and knew he couldn't give him anything, whereas against Baldomir he wasn't sure what he was up against and decided not to risk anything and stick to what he does best.

I think every boxer has underestimated his oppositions skill at one time or another though.

Baldomir is just a strong tough guy with a massive cranium. Floyd's not much of a big puncher anyway, I don't think he could've stopped him unless he maybe fought like he did versus guys such as Augustus, Ndou, or Chavez.

Perhaps I'm just looking too much into things, since Mayweather did spend most of the Judah fight on the offensive (and Judah can punch), but I think Floyd's conservative approach in the last couple fights is a cause for concern. The Oscar fight was the richest prize fight ever, Mayweather's ticket to stardom (or close to it), and he fought so conservatively, like he didn't want to committ and took so few risks. And the fight was competitive and pretty close throughout, and Vegas is a place where DLH has had some highly questionable calls go his way (and against him) with some ridiculous scorecards. Maybe it was the hurt hand and Baldomir's toughness, and Oscar's left hook power, but still, I wonder if he's gotten too safe and it'll come back to really haunt him.

Does this mean that Hatton is the golden boy stable, with dennis hobson his UK advisor. OR is It Mayweather?

****, finally it looks like this will become real.

    :happy :happy :happy :happy

Mayweather-Hatton will also allow Cotto-Mosley in November, and possibly winners facing each other in 2008. There are no words to describe this.

Damn, they really need all that time to train and promote? Beginning of November would of been a better date, people are busy with work and the holidays in december. Terrible time for a big fight card.

Hatton's got the style to give Mayweather some trouble. He's fast, aggressive and will ruff you up. Should be interesting.

I been watching hatton clips especially recent hatton...and I will say he is alot faster then I thought and he has pretty good timing..against a stationary target...I am sorry I watched floyd for too many years now..the difference in the pressure is the fighting posture..hatton is a short fighter but he stands str8 up..his knees are not bent...When he comes in he takes a bounce step back and bounces in and may move his head a little from side to side..but he is horrible at using his gloves to catch punches. Hatton is no bum...but he floyd is the ANTI-Hatton more so then Hatton is the ANTI-Floyd If you do not get under floyds punches you cannot get in the inside often enough to win a fight... IF you look at the castillo and chavez fight...Castillo started to crouch and come up with hooks and apply pressure by going under and he got in floyds chest every time... With Chavez...he was already short so he was able to get in floyds chest b/c he kept his head tucked and he got low so the only thing floyd could hit was the top of his head and you know what happens after that..floyd hurts his hand. Floyd always talks about his weakness and that he will never tell his weakness and I think that is it..from what I seen..Floyd couldnt do anything to keep castillo or chavez from getting close and he could only hit them with uppercuts.. Hatton stands str8 up and comes str8 in..he comes in fast but he is timeable and predicable you know he is going to leap and hook and fall in...floyd is going to pot shot him early and get the best of hatton in clinches b/c despite contrary belief Floyd is the better in-fighter...Floyd dont get in clinches..you can hold him but he keeps his arms up in front and in a position to punch so as soon as there is an inch he tags you..Hatton will try to hold and hit..but he will grab floyd and floyds hands wont be holding hatton off they will be on the inside and he is going to uppercut hatton at will and often..I see hattons corner throwing in the towel in round 10. Hatton wont quite though and will have his moments..It wont be like gatti...Hatton is not going to try to box.

I would agree with this analysis but hatton has zero defense. against a fighter of floyd's caliber no defense means you will get beat down. Hatton is not a sophisticated puncher and throws wild shots of the clinch. I really feel sorry for hatton, I don't think he takes a pounch as agood as oscar and his short arms will mean he will be taking a chance everytime he lunges at floyd. I got floyd by tko in 7 if he comes to punish him, if floyd is just going thru the motions then it will be a 10th round tko.

does that mean oscar was hype or castillo, see your so ****ing thick you dont realise that by saying your fighter beat a good opponent he gets credit thats due to him, twist it any way you want, you always predict hatton to lose and time after time you get it wrong.
