Im surprised that it not breaking new but still news, according news sources none that I will disclose as to not get myself banned again .. Floyd would not be able to make the mandatory defense WBC title which would have to before his match with Oscar in September .. so he had no choice but to give up the title .

Pit I have to disagree ... I think that they would not mandate Floyd to fight Berto right away ... Berto in the same case as Samuel Peter would get to fight for the interim title ... then it would be a deadline given to fight for the full title ... or FLoyd would be stripped and the winner of the fight would then become the full champion.

But in so many cases ... Casamayor and David Diaz ... Oleg Maskaev and Sam Peter ...

You dare to call me idiot and then make such a stupid comment??? Are you trying to tell me there were not at least five 147lbs contender who deserve that shot more than Hatton?? One fight( where he looked like ****) and suddenly he is worth a shot at Floyd's tittle?? Are you out of your mind????:fire

I understand an offer. And most of the PPV was sold by Hatton. Because he is a hero in his country. But MANDATORY?????????? No way I can understand that. Even if he got a belt with that ugly "win" against Collazo. The belt was from another organization. How the hell he becomes a mandatory???? Bull****, pure bull****!!!!

He wasn't a mandatory as far as I remember even if he was considered a mandatory I would agree it's ridiculous but still he was a challenger. Who was the mandatory at the time?

I can't believe how many people are acting like Floyd has done anything on this one. He hasn't changed his schedule, he's still fighting Oscar in September, its obvious (to me at least, and anyone else who has a clue) that he's going to fight Cotto next year (or possibly Margarito after their fight).

In one thread you criticize everything the WBC does, in fact in this very thread you say its ridiculous that Berto will get the opportunity to fight for the WBC title (even though you also say is meaningless anyway because of how ridiculous the WBC is). So Floyd says "**** you" to the WBC by not fighting his meaningless mandatory in Berto - so he can fight Oscar again and then Cotto or Margarito..... and he's even worse than he was before he vacated?

How many times did Floyd say only belt that mattered was WBC?

Floyd aint said **** yet about Cotto. All we hear is DLH, Hatton, reggie Bush, retirement. And witness more games and doubletalk:-(

Unify 147 Cotto, Quintana vs Williams Winner. Walk it lkie ya talk it and all the greats DID:good

there is a very good reason that pbf will not fight a mandatory. $$$$$

it will show that he is not the draw that he claims to be. imagine the numbers on a pbf berto fight.

I pumped for Berto. He should make easy work of Miguel Rodriguez and win his first major title. Hopefully he'll one day get a shot to unify with that other MIGUEL fellow.
