Also if it wasn't a business you wouldn't see laughable(for the harcore fans) advertisements for Margarito being called "the most feared beast on the planet" in an attempt to deceive people yet still successfully attracting them. That's just a very popular(to you) example right there which still proves that it's a business and to promote a certain fighter you need to build up hype, as bull**** as it may be it can still sell.

Name = Money. That's what motivates most fighters and as proven with Margarito's comments immediately after beating Cotto he was 100% pro money. All the "legacy seeking monster" talk was out of the window overnight.
