It would be more fair to list HOF'ers who competed or at least began at 126-135 when comparing Floyd, whose first dominant reign came at 130, to them...

Hagler/Leonard/Hearns all have big size advantages and never fought below 140-147.

Hagler - Floyd has never fought at MW, sort of unfair... Clearly Hagler easy.

Leonard - I think this match up is more competitive than people think but Leonard ought to be the favorite at 147

Hearns - close to a 50/50 fight either way; no way Hearns blasts him out easy and Floyd is a master of range so I don't think it's a wipe out in Hearns' favor; I think a lot of what Hearns does best would actually play into Floyds' hand

Duran - Floyd beats Duran at 140-154 in my opinion but at 135 where Duran has many brilliant performances and Floyd does not at the weight, you have to go with Duran for sure

He would have nightmares with Hearns,a giant guy with a huge reach, one of the best jabs in history and hit like a heavyweight
If Maidana could bully him and win some rounds then I can only imagine what Duran would do to him..
SRL is better than Floyd at everything apart from defence,SRL on points in a very close fight..
Cant really judge the Hagler fight because Floyd isnt a middleweight..

    What a load of rubbish:deal

Mayweather is NOT an elite fighter, if a C level thug like Maidana can batter him:lol:

Mayweather has NO offence of note, power or speed to overcome the Likes of a Duran/Hearns or SRL, different gravy mate, laying back on the ropes pot shotting:lol: DOOM DOOM & more DOOM. Floyd Mayweather was EXPOSED but a C level fighter:deal

Well the first thing is, will Mayweather even fight these guys if he was fighting back in the 80's or early 90's?

    Mayweather would probably say,

    - ''They all have losses''
    - ''They do not generate the amount of PPV numbers like I do''

I think this is a good post except I'm not sure you're giving Duran enough credit. Even at the higher weights, he still hit like a truck and usually could get a decent workrate. But I agree with your general point that a higher weight would be better for Floyd in such a fight.

Hearns can definitely be outboxed. But he's a giant and he only has to land once. Still, I would slightly lean to Floyd in that fight. But it would be "edge of your seat" the whole fight because you never know when Hearns might land that right.

I like to add, Floyd uses illegal elbows to defend. Floyd's skills are overrated by his fans.

Just go & watch Duran v Palomino & Duran v Leonard 1, then come back & tell us all what you saw & what you learnt by way of comparison to Saturday night.....Please do not put Sugar Ray Leonard in the same bracket as Mayweather, as much as I dislike SRL I respect him immensly for his skill/gut's & grit.....the Fab 4 are levels above the likes of Mayweather & Satuday night showcased it in Spades!

Floyd Mayweather is an HBO Pay Per View creation....Man of his times, smoke & mirrors....bull**** in essence, manafactured for the consumption of the gullible.

Is this the first time you have ever seen Mayweather fight?

"laying back on the ropes pot shotting" - obviously you haven't watched any of his other fights especially his pre-2006 fights.

"EXPOSED by a C level fighter" - Wow. Really. Don't you think the thread is referring to their prime at respective weight classes? The only way your post holds any relevance is if you believe the thread is referring specifically to the present 37 year old, 46-0 Floyd.

Your post is like me countering your argument, and being dead serious, with:

"Duran got dropped and beat up by C level De Jesus and lost fights to D level Kirkland Laing just two years after his epic career best win over Leonard!!!! Guess what? Duran lost to countless D and F level fighters in his career too!! Different gravy between Kirkland Laing and any of Floyds' last 28 opponents!!!!!"

"Hagler lost decisions to a pair of F level fighters in Bobby Watts and Willie Monroe!!!!!"

"Hearns lost twice including a spark out to C level Iran Barkley as well as a loss to F level Uriah Grant!!!!!!!!!!!!! If his hand broke hitting Grant than how is it going to stand up to Mayweather?!?!?!?!"

    This is a hilarious thread.

Please explain how Mayweather would beat Duran...

Hearns would straight up KO Mayweather. I don't see it any other way. Hearns is a nightmare for Mayweather.

    SRL would outpoint Mayweather 117-111.

Hagler at 160 is too big and would murder Mayweather.

Idiot, don't go splitting hairs & being uber selective, respond to all my points in general. Mayweather at 147 is a joke, selected opponants, I'l only give mayweather credit for the Alvarez fight, green as a grape as canelo is, I never bought into that canelo mystique, watched him against Mathew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes & lose to Trout IMO. I new than he would get his arse spanked against Mayweather. Which just confirms my opinion about levels, Mayweather is not on the level of Duran/SRL or Hearns....

Are you here trying to make excuses for Mayweather on saturday night? Are you saying he's passed it? Bull****! Styles maketh the fight & the more unothodox you are the more you will stymy Floyd. It's always been a given that anyone one who can give Floyd angles & 3 minutes is gonna fcuk him up, you've just only got to look at the resume of Mayweather at 147 & it's packed with class ins'nt it:lol:....Why on earth do you think floyd avoided Pacquiao?...Cotto's words, you don't see his punches coming (Pacquiao)

Now why don't you tell us all on here how Floyd is gonna beat Duran/SRL & hearns, give us a breakdown, workrate/guile ect, tell us all, enlighten us all to this awesome prime beast of a fighting machine at 147.

You expect me to respond to anything you say after you claim my post selective when I was clearly being overly dramatic to emphasize how selective you are with your first post, this:
