...given Shanes obvious problems when fighting good, technical boxers (forrest x2, winky x2, cotto) does he REALLY, from a realistic perspective, have a GOOD chance of beating the best, most technically and, in boxing at least, mentally gifted fighter we have seen in years in Floyd Mayweather??:think
I would love to think he has a good chance, he is one of my all time favorites, Just don't think so realistically.
one day a chosen one, a messiah will come from far away-- general santos, p.i. in fact to save the human race from the root of all evil... money. 'Tards 3:16
Forrest was a big, strong WW who was a boxer/puncher. Winky was another very big JR Middle with a great defense and powerful right hand jab since he was a right handed fighter fighting like a southpaw. Similar thing with Cotto only Cotto was a natural lefty converted to fight orthodox and pre-Margo I'd favor Cotto to beat Floyd. All these 3 fighters were in their primes and much bigger and stronger than Floyd. In the Cotto fight, I think Shane got outboxed the most, but even til the last round, he had Cotto on the run. Shane never seemed hurt and more than anything seemed lost and confused, so looking at that performance one would think Floyd should outbox him as well, but I don't think so it will be far closer because like I mentioned Shane had the wrong gameplan and has the tools to beat anyone including Pacquiao. Shane's weakest point and his achilles heel will become less evident now that Richardson is there to tweak Mosley to use tools and do things that we haven't seen yet and didn't know he could do. Like Richardson said, they are not going in with one strategy only and won't fight Floyd's fight. Even Shane being past his prime, he fights as well as any 28yr old I've seen. And if the old Shane should emerge, I think any version of Shane will leave Floyd with his hands full. Mosley's gone toe to toe with the best and won't hesitate to do it to Floyd.
Shane's too easy to hit, not a natural pure pressure fighter, and doesn't have a DLH-type jab. He'll win his share of rounds...he's Shane Mosley, but in the end he'll be outclassed.
Whilst Shne is a great fighter in his own right, i think this fight will be alot easier for Mayweather than most people think. I think the fight will be pretty clos over the first half of the fight but Floyd will run away with it over the second half. Would like to see Shane win it though.
a great fighter like Shane how da hell does he not have a chance...look im a fan of Floyd but no way i count Mosley out...he has a very solid trainer also so i give him a solid chance. This fight is intriguing because i honestly dont know what we are going to get. Nazim said some great quotes one i like most and what i think like he said other trainers and fighters fail to see is One that Floyd is very good and hase great skill and TWO...they are not training for Floyd per se but training Mosley to be the best Mosley he can be. These are great statements by Naz....however i still dont believe Mosley is the fighter who can carry Naz's vision out
Mayweather better win or he's gonna look like the biggest hype job in the history of boxing. With that said my mind says Mayweather but my heart says Mosley. Mosley by UD in a fight that turns out to be one of Mayweather's most entertaining.
