Floyd never took enough flush shots for his chin to be judged

His superb defence meant that his chin was never in a postion to be regularly tested

Its like saying a footballer ( soccer player ) who only takes 2 penalties in his career and scores them both is considered the great penalty taker of all time

 

Froch was floored and rubbery legged against Jermain Taylor, not exactly a hard puncher at 168.

 

that is just plain wrong. Mosley, Judah, Cotto, Pac, Castillo all hit him flush.

 

how could I forget Maidana? Hit him square with a shot that would have ko'd most in the division or at least dropped him.

 

Only Mosley has landed BIG shots on him

Its how you receover from big flush shots when you're off balance and your chin is hanging in the breeze .......a la Froch

Even when Floyd gets caught clean, his chin is tucked in and his feet are in the right place and he sees the punch coming

Floyd's chin isn't iron. He's hurt every single time people land flush. His defense and length minimizes the impact. GGG has an iron chin, but not floyd.

Yes he has been put down or put on rubber legs once in a while but come on, the guys defense is his chin. im surprised he doesn't use his chin as his fist its that solid.
Most fighters have been put down or put on rubber in their time.
Floyd hasn't because of his great defense and great chin.

The biggest chin test he ever had was Diego Corrales, but Floyd was so good defensively that Chico never hit him.

He hasn't really been tagged enough or fought other greats enough to evaluate his chin.

 

I'm not a huge Floyd fan but only a hater would say he doesn't have a great chin. Going 49-0 and not ever being knocked down? And he faced TONS of brawlers.

 

a very defensive boxer cannot be rated for granite chin because only in toe-to-toe fights are granite chins appreciated. floyd is just great in defense because he doesn't want to get hurt. he is not in that league.
