Now the question is not who would win because that is very clear since last saturday. The question is do you see floyd making this fight, Canelo has the rep of a rising star and as we saw in the numbers mexicans love him Floyd vs Alvarez would do great ppv numbers where floyd has a great chance of winning, that seems like a move he would pull right? On the other hand would Oscar sacrifice Canelos undefeated record for huge ppv numbers, I think this could really happen in 2012.
^This times 1000. This fight only gets made when Alvarez can afford defeat and can do Mayweather numbers.
Its a worthy risk, if he loses its because he is green, if he wins you have the new boxing superstar.
Actually, that's a pretty good point. We know he's a little too green and not as good of a boxer as Floyd but he already has a well established fan base for his age that wouldn't notice the same way we know Mosley is effed.
This happens, when Mayweather passes the torch to Canelo later down the road... after de la hoya says to mayweather fighting me is what made you become famous... now pass the favor, don't worry it will be a draw so you can retire undefeated haha. Maybe... in fantasy land. Small possibility though.
He is only 20yrs old, he needs to fine tune some things before he jumps to the top of the class not even just Mayweather. He should hold out a little longer and wait until he is 22-23. For now he should look for veteran gate keepers with big names.
Look i'm Mexican American. I can't and won't drink the coolaid on this guy. He has been unable to beat his last 2 smaller opponent by k.o. He has been hit flush by these feather fisted opponents as well. I honestly think that if he fights Chavez Jr right now, that JR will come out victorious. If he can't put smaller fighters away what makes you think is he going to put a full fledge MIddleweight away. He needs a lot of tuning up. Or maybe the strategy is to get rounds in not let go 100 percent. HOld back alittle as all the great trainers tell you. Never really show what you have with tomatoe cans. But i'm thinking he was really trying K.O his last 2 opponents but just couldnt find the way to land that one punch. He has alot of learning to do. Golden Boy should really start looking for another Poster Boy because i think this one does not fit the Camera well.
Floyd wont be around to make this fight Alvarez will probably build his PPV base over the next 3 - 4 fights which is probably 2 years time. I dont see PBF being around that long and if he is I dont see him being a force. Plus who knows what weight clas he will be fighting in by then No doubt he would love to face him for the pay day
Floyd is past his prime, Alvarez has yet to reach his. 2 fighter's at different points in their careers, Paths will never cross.
