That´s all I read also but it must be true since its on ESPN and they wouldn't make stuff up unless its confirmed by reliable sources.

I'm just wondering why the Mayweather camp dont got a problem with Arum in the Cotto/Maayweather negotiation but he does in the Manny/Mayweather negotiation.

I asked this earlier and it seem no-one could give me an answer.

Cotto is on a fight-by-fight with Top Rank and has no promotional contract. This was the same status he had at the start of 2012 when Mayweather-Cotto I was made without Top Rank.

I mentioned this same thing in another thread earlier, and I could be mistaken, but it was my understanding that following the Martinez fight, Arum would have promotional ties to Cotto "for his next fight". I swear I remember reading that in more than one place, but I can't remember if it was from a reputable source and I'm not certain that my understanding is accurate.

But I believe Arum is supposed to be affiliated with Cotto's next fight.

I've never seen that mentioned anywhere and find it hard to believe he would bind himself like that to his own disadvantage, particularly since Cotto and his attorney both made a big deal about his free agent status during the time of Rodriguez fight and Arum said he wouldn't need a contract from Miguel like he didn't from Hagler.

Of course, Arum also said something similar after the Margarito rematch and proceeded to be trumped by Mayweather when was trying to make Pacquiao-Cotto II :rofl

He was "negotiating" Cotto's next fight at the start of 2012 too but was cut out since he didn't actually have him under contract.

cotto refuses to deal with haymon after the trout debacle. He remains loyal to top rank and hbo.

rafael has confirmed that haymon camp has reached out to the cotto camp.

expect nothing out of that though. cotto and canelo will get ironed out.

Wouldn't Cotto be crazy to turn down $40 mil and a shot at redemption? He believes he beat Mayweather.
