I don't want to see this fight. But, it's probably Cotto's best option.

Well I actually think Cotto stands a good chance in a rematch but if Mayweather won that would be terrible because the WBC would let him hold onto the belt for as long as he wants and he would never fight Golovkin.

Cotto is linked to HBO. It won't happen.

Cotto is still a network free agent according to Roach.

i read rumours of 40m offered by haymon but those articles stress that its just REPORTS and nothing confirmed yet.. i really dont like this fight for floyd

sure id love to see him take a middleweight title but how is this going to play out any differently to 154 cotto? he is goign to come in at the same weight (ditto for floyd) and both times floyd has rematched an opponent he has improved dramatically. give me pac or khan please

What is so hard to understand that Cotto is a free agent. Free to do business with whom he likes and what is best for him. he has said it himself. Arum was negotiating on his behalf in regards to a fight with Canelo. That has nothing to do with negotiations in regards to a fight with mayweather. Since Mayweather promotions has a valid promoters license now, TR or GBP would not be needed. Cotto and Mayweather can keep money in house.

"Cotto is linked to HBO. It won't happen."

HBO welcomes Cotto to fight on their network as he makes them a **** ton of money, but he is not contractually obligated to fight there and can fight on Showtime PPV if needed.

Writing is on the wall, Cotto/Canelo negotiations are stalled because Cotto is negotiating with Mayweather and company in regards to a much more lucrative option.

anyone know what figure cotto would be getting for fighting canelo? $40mil is a massive figure for him to turn down.

interestingly if they can offer cotto 40mil for a fight that'll do 1.5mil ppvs? could they not offer pac 60mil for a fight that'll do 2.5mil ppvs

I'll have to look it up later but I doubt there's official word on Cotto's promotional status to be found online.

Who the hell wants to see Floyd v Cotto 2 when the first one was a clear victory for Floyd? We live in a land of fools if this fight would actually take place and people buy it.

I wouldn't mind seeing it if the fight was at 160 with no Catchweights. It's definitely not better than fighting Pacquiao but easily better than fighting Khan.
