Floyd replied today that he would love to fight GGG even if he woud have to go for 160. He also mentioned that GGG is not a spectacular boxer. Do you think such a fight could happen? and who will be on the winning side? Floyd's Defense and experience or Glovkin's Aggression?

I don't think the fight will happen especially not @160

Maybe Floyd would ask for 154 or 150 CW

I can see Floyd winning a UD but even a drained Golovkin @ 150 CW would give him some problems with his power

Golovkin at 160 would put him in the morgue. C'm on let's be serious. There is a big size difference and GGG can really cut the ring off well. GGG goes to the body like a beast, ensuring that, even if he has difficulty landing flush shots early, later on Floyd will be slow and vulnerable.

    This fight probably shouldn't happen.

What Mayweather actually said was that he would have fought GiGi IF he could have made 160 pounds.
Obviously Mayweather's frame is not made for MW and he can't make 160.

I think Mayweather just spoke about the fight not because he wanted to, but because lame marshmallows insist on continuing to ask him to fight this nobody Russian goat herder.
Same as they constantly bring up Rhonda the trannie whenever they see Mayweather.
Mayweather has as much desire to fight GiGi as he does Rhonda. They are both meaningless fights where Mayweather wins and gains nothing.

However, for the sake of fantasy let's pretend that Floyd could make 160 while retaining all of his speed, power and skill. If this were the fact then he would beat Nobody GiGi even easier than he beat Pacquiao. Pacquiao has much more speed, power and versatility than basic and slow Little g.

Retired fighters like Floyd, Froch, Ward just mention GGG for publicity purposes.

I don't think people recognize how fast Floyd mayweather is. Judging by some of these posts, some people assume he'd be some stationary punching bag for his opposition. He's arguably the quickest guy of both hand and feet at 147 and 154, all of a sudden he'd become a slow plodder against mw's?

Gennady obviously would have a big time advantage in the power department, as does almost every other opponent Floyd has faced for the last decade. But that's the only trait gennady has over him; aside from power and a height advantage, golovkin doesn't hold any skills superior to Floyd. Not one.

This pretty much sums it up for me as well. People should just leave the man alone, he's accomplished pretty much everything there is to accomplish in a boxing ring. The guy is almost 40 years old.

Floyd can avoid head punches for a while, but some body punches will land. Even if they are partially blocked, they will eventually slow Floyd down. Also, Golovkins punches landed on arms and shoulders will be damaging too and eventually make Floyd defenseless.
