I have been reading these forums for awhile. First and foremost I cant believe some of the stuff that I read. First of all no fighter is scared of another fighter. Professional boxing is no different that any other capital seeking entity. If the money is right, a fighter would fight anyone, hell I am no professional fighter but if someone offered me the right money, I would fight them. What is Money supposed to do, come off a two year layoff and fight Pac? That would not be a wise decison financialy and physically. The fight with Marquez does several things to increase the magnitude of a Money and Pac showdown. First of all, the public will see just where Money is in his skills, if he looks good, that builds the fight. If Marquez somehow wins or looks very good, a fight with him and Pac only grows in demand. It is a win-win situation for all involved. If Money wins, Marquez loses nothing because he had no business in the ring in the first place. If Pac loses to Cotto, (which some of you feel hell has a better chance of freezing), he and Marquez will still get serious money to fight. Please understand that it is business first, because when it is all said and done, fighters have responsibilities and the basis human needs as the rest of us.

I agree, he acts as he is a promoter, trainer, manager and all of those things. The hate is too obvious. What matters to the fans is a good fight, the promoters and fighters is the money.

    1) Why would it be bad to announce it before Hatton/Pacquiao?, Hatton is Mayweather's last opponent and a guy he KO'd too and Marquez is a former Pacquiao opponent. If anything, it proved to get a lot of attention.

    2) Roach also claimed that Hatton is nothing but a 3 round fight at most. Not a great sign to promote that either, eh?. Roach also claims Mayweather Jr. is the easiest fight out there, not a great sign to promote that if it happens in the future either.

    3) Why not promote in London?, there are many boxing fans there and all know Mayweather is a former Hatton opponent and a possible future Pacquiao(who demolished Hatton) opponent. Getting some support there isn't bad and promotional tours have always been like that. Ali and Frazier fought in Manila, right?, Ali and Foreman also fought in Africa and many other overseas fights. Promoting a fight overseas is normal and nothing new.

    4) The fight was announced at 143 or 144, nothing more or less. No one understands why people are confused so they announced it AGAIN for people confused. Hey, I still see people confused about what weight Cotto/Pac will be at.

    5) Floyd mentioned that when Roach and co. couldn't stop saying they want the fight and when Arum came out hinting Mayweather is scared from Pac like Roach did. So there, they got a chance to make it and didn't even comment on it and went on with Cotto. If anything, this proves Roach and Arum were just talking out of their asses. There's no disrespect to Marquez at all, he would still have been a major name to look forward to if the fight was replaced with Pac. Marquez would have gotten free "step aside" money, probably took some other tune-up at 140 and waited for Pac/Mayweather winner to make the major fight. Fact is, Mayweather showed he IS willing to postpone this "tune up" people call it as but Roach had no interest dropping his "tune up" in Cotto like they said he was by hinting it won't go more than 5 rounds.

I don't see it announced as a mismatch at all, people like to make it look like that. I remember Hatton/Pac was looked at as a mismatch too, remember Roach's comments or you want me to paste it for you?. Roach is also saying Cotto is a 5 round fight at most who won't be threatening at all. Trash talking is normal, why jump on Mayweather Sr.'s balls and leave Roach ignored?

Easy answers. Nobody should get bent out of shape for what you're saying lol... Your man asked a ww champ to come in at 145 lol...and you want to call that a historical win when the ww champ can't come in at 147 lol...

    Blunder 1 is your opinion
Blunder 2 is fight talk a from the father of Floyd Mayweather:lol:
Blunder 3 is something you have no idea about lol...truly comical.
Blunder 4 the fight is at 144.
Blunder 5 if anything, Floyd would pay step aside money to fight PAc.
Blunder 6 is Beristan motivating his fighter.

it never ceases to amaze me the length that people will go to hate on Floyd... he could agree to fight pac, jmm, cotto and the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team in one night and people would find a way to criticize something...
