Nope, he's not just a bigger and better version at all. Floyd neglects using proper angles and backs up in a straight line when feinted and pressured, stops his opponent less often, is less fluid in changing between playing aggressor and counter-puncher (as in, he changes modes in stretches of the fight, but rarely in-between rounds), isn't as creative with his feints, baits, and counters, fails to establish lead foot position against southpaws, and doesn't react as well under fire at all. Marquez just got hit less against Pacquiao at 38 years old past his best weight than a taller, faster, stronger, harder-hitting, more reflexive Floyd did against Judah. Marquez would be a slightly more effective aggressor because of a better conditioning regimen allowing for more mobility, but he would still get pushed and bullied whenever he slipped into the pocket, just like the first fight, and would still be kept at range by the much taller and longer and faster Floyd. What don't you understand about "slightly more competitive"? Are you aware a fighter can improve a performance and still lose? Or do all fights and rematches end in dominant 12 round decisions and knockouts?
People are making excuses about how the next time if they fought he'd have a better camp and diet and he'd be the counterpuncher this time
So your "slightly better" with all of Juans better training, dropped diet, being the counterpuncher, etc, will make it an 11-1 instead of a 12-0 :rofl:rofl:rofl But this time (if it actually happened), you and his other fans can't use he had a bad camp, bad diet, wasn't the counterpuncher he usually is, etc
I'm a fan of both fighters, Mayweather wins every time, probably by shut out, he's better, not smarter though, JMM is better at reading boxing, Mayweather has had a superior skillset drilled into him from a young age. Floyd actually underrates himself by being cautious against sub-par opposition. That's partly his family and Haymon pushing him to be cautious.
I agree and disagree with this post, they are both counter punchers but both are different. I agree Marquez is smarter at working the angles and timing, is a better puncher technically (you missed that), is a better combo puncher (you missed that) Floyd is faster, better reactions, is technically much better defensively, has longer arms, is taller, is stronger P4P (not just bigger), is better conditioned. Floyd is also more versatile in what he can do
Well there's many different forms of intelligence to be fair. Floyd's a cool guy and has ring intelligence but in terms of reading opponents from film he's a dumb ass, he actually think Pac was worse against JMM because 'he was laying off the PEDs because he knew he had to face me'. No it's because Pac couldn't handle defence and counter punching and it should be an easy fight for Floyd. I wonder if Floyd is autistic to be honest
I totally disagree. You may think he's an idiot in life when it comes to things non boxing but he's a genius when it comes to boxing. Youre foolish if you think Floyd gets by on his physical abilities. What evidence do you have to say that JMM breaks down film better? Just watch Floyd's fights. There is no one smarter & better at making adjustments. He can teach boxing. He can tell you why he did something or what he see's that another guy does wrong. Thats why he says if you make a mistake you have to pay. Its not about him physically, its about him being smart enough to recognize that mistake. Just because he's more physically gifted doesnt make him any less smarter than JMM
Once Floyd measured the range between himself and JMM, and realized he could do whatever he wants from the outside it was like a cat toying with a mouse. I think a Pac fight would be similar.
There's a difference between learning good boxing technique, knowing how to use it and being intelligent How do I know JMM breaks down film better? Floyd actually rates Pacquaio
Cause JMM lost to the fighter who had all the advantages. Not too hard to admit if you're a real boxing fan.
