I think Pacquiao did what he could except he deliberately decided not to take more risks, which he probably needed to do. Aside from this, Floyd fought an intelligent fight and did what he needed to do to win. Speed wise, he didn't have an advantage but he moved well, controlled the range and just made it difficult for Manny to close the distance. He did a great job controlling the distance and being elusive. Pac needed to take more chances and throw a lot more but Floyd made it difficult and his counters kept him thinking, i guess. and pac was a sore loser, he should've just admitted he lost. It is difficult to admit when you lose to a fighter that is so defensive; a fighter that you have to attack for 12 rounds but that's boxing. Defense is part of boxing and Manny should've taken more risks, even if the chances of a KO loss were higher.
Props to floyd, he did his thing in the ring. Pac and roach's gameplan was wrong. congrats to floyd and his team, also to all his fans.
I don't think Pac had a bad game plan. To me, he just couldn't close the distance often enough and Floyd's counters kept him thinking. Floyd's range control was superb and when Manny had chances to attack, he didn't do it enough. I don't think that was a Roach decision necessarily. From what i gather, Roach wanted Manny to throw combinations and get out of the pocket, Manny didn't quite do that well enough but Floyd moved better than i thought he would... I wish he would've exchanged more, but he was smart, what else is new. My only disappointment with Manny, given how hard Floyd was to hit, was how cautious he was. He could've taken more risks but easier said than done.
He has been knocked out before so I don't know why he didn't at least try to go all out but who knows. He seemed frustrated from round 1.
Or he just can't pull the trigger anymore. But Floyd is slower now too so I dunno. I am a little surprised after all these years he didn't try to attack from anything other than a straight line.
Floyd did hit him with a strong right in round one and Manny has a pretty decent poker face but it could of done enough to make him respect that Floyd could hurt him. The JMM fight has probably made him more cautious also.
