I surely hope Floyd finally steps up and guarantees this date and the opponent. I tell you quite honestly - I don't think it's a great deal for Shane since he has to hurry up to resume his pro career with two fights against two gifted and talented fighters in Berto and Mayweather but it's better than nothing... Berto comes as a consolation fight after the Cotto loss ( a new chance to become WBC-WBA WW Champ) and then the Mayweather fight would make a whole lot of sense even as early as May 1st ( after January 30th)... Shane at age 38 has to fight father time and make best use of his talent and physical attributes at this weight class to get the reward whereas a fight with Paul Williams would double risk a Mayweather-Mosley showdown. So it makes sense, Mosley is the name Mayweather is to announce but after January the 30th of course.

I'm still waiting for PBF to come out and say it.

But for the sake of discussion, why can't he just come out and say I'll take the winner of the Berto/Mosley fight. There is always a chance of Mosley losing.

I bet hes waiting to see how Mosley looks. If he looks like his age has caught up to him, he will pick him for his next fight.

Personally I think that it would be better for Floyd to attach himself to Shane. Shane is a bigger name win, lose, or draw and a bigger challenge in mine and most post people's opinions. If he declares that he'll face the winner and Berto wins, haters will say that he never wanted to face Shane and blah blah blah. They're already saying that he hopes that Shane loses and/or gets damaged in the fight. There is no pleasing some people.

Floyd vs. Shane dwarfs Pacquiao vs. Clottey and after all the haters talked Matthew Hatton and such, this huge, mega fight is still not enough for the haters. Oh well. Floyd will get money, build legacy, and when he and Shane do the random testing, it will make Pacquiao's star fall that much further and that much faster.
