this fight would be great from start to finish. if it were to end in tko or a decsion.

    the issues are....

pac wanting a catchweight and floyd wont want to budge....come on pac just fight at 147, your going to come in on fight night weighing 148-152 pounds. its not like mayweather is going to come in weighing 160 pounds fight night anyways! he doesnt ever ballon up after weighing in right? i could understand wanting a catch weight with the bigger welters.

floyd and manny wanting the bigger purse.....both fighters realize that this is the biggest payday for either of them. a 50/50 would be fair and simple,

the reasons it should be 60/40 in pacs favor. pac brings the great offense and loyal fans.

the reasons it should be 60/40 in floyds favor. floyd brings the trash talking a great defense and a undefeated record. people want to see that 0 go.

why not winner get 60/40? {65/35 for a knockout} neither of these fighters will see as big of a payday fighting any of the other fighters right?

but lets not forget jmm floyd needs to get past him first.

and if manny fights shane first, hell need to get through him as well....

or we wont see this fight till 2010 :!:

Floyd is getting 15 million for Marquez. His ppv's have outdone Pacquiao's. He is the only reason that people will watch the 24/7. Mayweather should get more.

True. Ireally think it should be and even split but if anyone deserves more then its Floyd, plus I think Floyds got more options, he could always just take on the real welters and I bet that wud do better number than Pac taken them on.

They will eventually come into terms I think. Only issue might be the weight and if Mayweather will move to 140 for it or Pacquiao to 147 or a catchweight in between.

Money issues can bring complications too though I don't know what they will end up with there. Mayweather did better fighting Hatton and DLH than Pacquiao did and even in previous PPVs they were mostly even.

All depends on the result of Mayweather/Marquez, how Mayweather performs and how much it makes.

It's called discussion and it matters a lot since it has to do with making this fight possible, don't think anyone is obsessed enough to think like you.

From a neutral standpoint, the reason why Mayweather deserves a bigger share of the purse is because his fights have sold more PPV.......

.....when you take their like opponents, DLH and Hatton, Mayweather's fight has sold a significant ammount of PPV......the DLH fight in particular, we're talking an astronomical figure of over 2 million PPV sales in the US.

.....they can rant and rave that it was DLH's name who sold the PPV, but the facts point otherwise......DLH-Pac never came close to that figure.....and none of DLH other PPV events where he was the main event never reached a sniffing distance to 2 million buys!

.....conclusion, that was Mayweather's persona selling the PPV!

Name any opponent that Pacquiao could fight, and Mayweather would outsell him fighting the same fighter.
    Its really that simple!

My point of view this fight is crap.

While us fans are getting lost in the excitement this fight can bring . . . it doesn't mean anything in a real sense . . . except money for both fighters.

Fighting opponents in a catch weight will always bring an excuse that a fighter lost not in his real fighting weight.

So let the 147 pounder fighter fight the 147 fighters and the 140 pounder fight 140 fighters . . . or otherwise if Floyd wants to fight Pacquiao he should go down to 140 or if Pacquiao wants Mayweather he should go up to 147.

    So . . . question is . . . who wants who.

Better at a catchweight than nothing. There are many fights that happened at catchweights, doesn't affect the result at all. If both fighters agree then both know they are capable of doing so and all excuses go out the window after the fight.

Though if either man refuses a catchweight then moving down or up for either is only reasonable for whoever wants it most.

What the hell has Pac done against a non-Marquee fighter?

Pac's fights with MAB and Morales which are Marquee names did less than 350k......
.....Mayweather's fight against a no-name Carlos Baldomir did 350k......tell me who sells more PPV's???

I'd compare Carlos Baldomir with being on the same plain of recognition as David Diaz.....and Pac's fight with David Diaz did less that 180K.

......rant and rave and go in any direction that you wish, but the numbers all indicate that its Mayweather who sell more PPV's than Pac, in both Marquee and non-Marquee matchups....
