Definatly. Floyd vs Socar was big but not like this because Oscar wasn't on top of his game at the time and Floyd hadn't reached his peak in terms of popularity. Right now both guys are seemingly still in their prime and both are dominating their opposition and both are hugely popular

I can't think of any. It is the first time I heard two known hot fighters on this generation who are trying wrest the true best pound for pound title, absolutely no question this is the biggest fight of the decade.

Yes/No if it is held at a catchweight it will be slightly blemished. (Should be @ 147lbs)
On paper tho it defo looks like it.

The "new" peoples champ Vs. the villain.
    (Works in the comic books)

The weight won't affect the fact that this will be the biggest fight of the decade. What fight can you say will be bigger if they weigh in at say 145 instead of 147? It will still be the biggest event in boxing this decade

By absolute miles. The biggest fight sence Hagler-Leonard, can't understand how anyone could argue that any other since has come close.

and I'm neutral on who I would root for between pac-floyd

I never fully understood what triggers an era. Do ppl consider it more of a timeframe (like the ,80's or 90's,) or is it more to do with just who's on top at a certain point?

Would you rate Hagler-Leonard over Tyson-Spinks? It turned out to be an annihillation but it was a much anticipated fight.

    I agree 100%..
This fight has the same makings, IMO.

IMO Trinidad/De La Hoya was bigger at the time because of the "Undefeated".
We shall see, BUt I look for a repeat of ODLH & Trinidad again in terms of action.
    (Or lack of... "Styles")

Except this time ODLH (Mayweather) will get the dec.:hey

I can just see it again scenes in the Phillipines the same as the crazy scenes in Puerto Rico

Don't be surprised to see Manny win a split decision in this one.......
